Jacksonville's Best

Quote:Beach Road Chicken is named so because it is on the road that leads out to the beaches...not because it's road kill!!
It was actually the ONLY road to the beach when it first opened..."<b>Welcome to Jacksonville's oldest restaurant!</b>

This hometown favorite has been in the same location since 1939 when Atlantic Blvd. was the only accessible road to the beach. Thus, the name Beach Road Chicken Dinners." http://www.beachroadchickendinners.com/about.php

Corned Beef Hash at Beach Hut

The Fried Chicken Wings on the appetizer menu at Mojo's BBQ are OUTSTANDING

The Smokerschmitt at European Street

Havana Jax is the best Cuban food north of Tampa

I saw someone post about the Blue Max at European and instantly started missing Jville.  That was by far my favorite sandwich with a bit of beer cheese soup.  Guess I know where I will be visiting on my next trip back home now.

This. A thousand times this. I don't know why O'steen's shrimp taste so much better, but they are easily the best fried shrimp I've ever had.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

I know this is an old thread but I was wondering if anyone has hotels they recommend in the area? My wife and I are trying to plan to come out for my birthday for my first ever game in Jacksonville. Its going to be insane but if we can get it planned away we have a shot. So looking for hotels close by the bank. Is that a good idea? enough to see in that area? Thanks.
