King James
|
It's been a whole weekend now, and nobody has started a thread about LeBron James' decision to return to Cleveland.
I'm not a big NBA fan, but I like the way he went about it this time around, as contrived as it may be.
If something can corrupt you, you're corrupted already.

Great player, but I think James is a diva who absolutely eats up being in the center of the media. Craves it like some of the biggest diva celebrities out there. He fell short of his 8 (maybe more) gaurantee in Miami. It was time for him to get out of dodge.

I'm kinda glad he's back in Cleveland...I think he kinda owes them for his handling of it all in the past. But I also agree with some of the sentiment above. He diva.

LeBron came into the league as the most hyped player of all time. By 23, he led the NBA in scoring. By 24, he was the MVP of the league. Rather than building around that, the Cavs decided to support LeBron James with cast-offs. In 2009/2010 out of 82 games, Anthony Parker started 81 and JJ Hickson started 73. That was a huge slap in the face to LeBron that Cleveland didn't care about increasing it's chance at an NBA Championship. They had LeBron James to keep them competitive and keep cash-flow positive and that was good enough for them. I don't blame LeBron in the least for giving them the deuces. The issue with LeBron is that his "The Decision" thing was way, way overblown and sensationalized. However, "The Decision" raised $2.5 Million for the Boys and Girls Club through just ad sales, so it's hard to be upset over that.
Regardless, LeBron doesn't owe anything to Cleveland. Cleveland owes LeBron.

how many first over all picks do you need to get Cleveland a championship? (in this case 4) Along with 2 number 4 overalls
He is leaving one stacked team for another. great players don't do shady tactics to get championships like collusion or abandoning the tough times only to swoop back in when it looks easy. and wow... 2.5million dollars for boys and girls club from a guy who was worth over 40 million in just one year. He is not a saint for going back to Cleveland, he is a superb athlete that wants to win without having to try as hard. I wish he played in the early 90s and tried that charge the lane drop a should crap. Ewing, Laimbeer would eat him alive BOLD PREDICTION: In one year he will drastically decline as a player, i'm guessing lingering ankle, or worse cramping than we have seen already. At one end of the court he will not be able to be as dominant, he will have to decide which. The next will be his first step. 33,000 career minutes plus 6700 in the playoffs.. And yes I am a Lebron hater. I never saw Jordan quit on his team the way Lebron quit on his against the Magic and mr. Pietrus

None of the better free agents in the league would even consider Cleveland and that is the biggest reason he left. They pursued them and none of them would bite. A two year deal with a player opt out after year 1? Lol, rinse, lather, repeat next year. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

If you don't think players would have been interested in playing with LeBon James in Cleveland, than you either don't follow basketball or are just incredibly ignorant. Do you really think Anthony Parker and JJ Hickson were the best players Cleveland could have brought in? Really?? Quote:Lol, support him with cast offs? Quote:I'd like to hear the list of 'studs' that Jordan was surrounded with. Pippen? Pffffftt. Look what happened to him after Jordan left. Are you joking? The Bulls went 55-27 the year Jordan left to play baseball. Without LeBron, the 2010 Cavs that went 61-21 would have struggled to win 20 games. The rest of the team was really bad. Anthony Parker and J.J. Hickson would have never touched the floor for the 90s Bulls teams..... they stated a combined 154 games for the Cavs in 2010. Quote:Are you joking? Quote:I'd like to hear the list of 'studs' that Jordan was surrounded with. Pippen? Pffffftt. Look what happened to him after Jordan left. Scottie Pippen. One of the most under appreciated athletes ever. "Jordan retired before the 1993–94 season, due to the death of his father James R. Jordan, Sr., and in his absence Pippen emerged from Jordan's shadow. That year, he earned All-Star Game MVP honors and led the Bulls in scoring, assists, and blocks, and was second in the NBA in steals per game, averaging 22.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 2.9 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game, while shooting 49.1% from the field and a career-best 32% from the 3-point line. For his efforts, he earned the first of three straight All-NBA First Team selections, and he finished third in MVP voting. The Bulls finished the season with 55 wins, only two fewer than the year before." Jordan is the greatest but the Pippen slander won't stand.
Quote:Name the stars Jordan was surrounded with his entire career. I'm sure you'll need to look it up. Pippen and Rodman are both Hall of Famers.
Quote:Scottie Pippen. One of the most under appreciated athletes ever. Even diehard Jordan fans will tell you that Jordan played with an elite player in Pippen. This is why I think the poster saying Pippen was a scrub is neither a basketball fan nor a Jordan fan.
Quote:Scottie Pippen. One of the most under appreciated athletes ever. Pippen developed into a pretty good player in his own right...however obviously not in the same stratosphere as Jordan...but overall the other players on those Jordan Bulls teams were shoemakers. Bill Cartwright?? C'mon man.... We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:I'd like to hear the list of 'studs' that Jordan was surrounded with. Pippen? Quote:Pippen and Rodman are both Hall of Famers. Rodman's a HOF'er?? yikes. He was good for that Bulls team when he came over as a free agent, but HOF player? If true, wow. Is that based on actual fame or production?

Bill Cartwright?? C'mon man.... Oh I agree. I just don't like when people say Pippen wasn't a great player. He was great just overshadowed by someone who was the best. And lebron had no one like that in Cleveland. |
