Forte or Mccoy in PPR?
|
I have the number 2 pick in my PPR league. I'm assuming Charles is gonna be the first pick, leaving me to choose between Mccoy or Forte. I am leading towards Forte because of the fact that Bush is gone, their line is only improving, he did great under Trestman last year, and Mccoy has Sproles taking away some of his targets this year. I feel that Mccoy is the better talent, but Forte is the better pick here in a ppr league. What do you guys think?

I was going to say McCoy. But you made some really good points that I agree with you on. Don't forget that Jackson is gone from Philly and that will also have an impact to some extent.
I think last year was the first year that forte actually played every game, remember that, I'm drafting Kareem as his backup to sit on the bench because i'm guessing he'll get hurt again.

Quote:PPR or not, if Charles goes #1....why aren't you going with Peterson at #2?AP has no business going at 2 in a PPR league. He only had 29 catches for 171 yards and a td last season. Compare that to Charles, Mccoy, and Forte and its not even close. Those guys are far and away more valuable PPR backs. As for the OP I really think its a toss up. I would most likely lean towards McCoy because I feel he's the more explosive back. Its probably time to dig deeper and consider the divisions in which they play and non conference schedules.

Those guys are far and away more valuable PPR backs. Last year was the first "big" year receptions wise that Forte has had since when? 2010? It was also the first year he scored over 8 TDs since 2008. McCoy has only had one "big" TD rushing year, although 2010 and 2013 are good given what they give back in PPR/yards. Both Forte and McCoy will be handcuffed a bit, IMO by the presence of Carey and Sproles, both of which can take catches away from the starters. Meanwhile, AD should have that Minny backfield all to himself. I can see why Forte and Shady would sound appealing, but I don't trust them enough (more so Forte than Shady). In a PPR league, I'd feel like I can get equal or close to value to Forte in guys like Bernard, Bush, Murray, etc for a much smaller cost. We show less advertisements to registered users. I know Charles had even better stats than McCoy last year, but I'm still wondering if McCoy going into year two with Chip Kelly might be a safer pick for the first overall spot.

Add to that the fact that Sproles will be able to allow McCoy to stay fresh. I had both of them last year, along with Eddie Lacy, in my ppr league. Needless to say I won the league lol.
I do have a scenario/question for everyone though: I can keep 2 players from last year, but I'd have to forfeit the round I picked the player in for this year's draft. Who would you all keep and why? Jamaal Charles (round 1) LeSean McCoy (round 2) Jimmy Graham (round 4) Eddie Lacy (round 7) This league also has the ability for teams to play 2 QBs with a qb spot and a full flex...and every team does. Last year I won with Russell Wilson and Cutler.

I'm going to guess this is very small league? I would be tempted to go with Graham at round 4. Toss up on McCoy/Charles depending on where you're drafting.
