Quote:Am I the only one that finds this thread kind of disturbing?

I don't know if BigJag57 is serious, or if he's just pulling off a great "troll".

My feeling is, if it's the former, then BigJag57 should probably seek some kind of professional help.  Airing your "dirty laundry" on a public forum is not exactly something that most "normal" adults would do.  It's also really not a way to "get answers" when it comes to living life.

If it's the latter, then I would think that BigJag57 pulled off a classic.

I would hope BigJag is being honest and not trolling us here...but then again, I'm the kind of person that tends/ likes to see the good in people, an idealist, I was told...

But that being said....if he is being honest, I think its poor taste for you to come of with the above sort of scathing post. What if he doesn't have the support system to talk to and maybe "can't afford" any professional type of advice/ help that your suggesting he should seek. Its so easy for those that have to judge those that do not and be condescending as it seems you're doing above.

I'm not going to bash someone for handling something maybe the only way they know how to at the moment.

Now, if its a troll thread and all he's doing is baiting us all....yeah, then I'd have a problem with it.

Why is my post so "scathing"?  Because it's the truth?

I'm certainly sure that if he works in some sort of job that he described, there are means and ways for him to get professional help.  Also, there are public means to gain assistance, especially related to mental health.  The issues described here are much better told to people that can handle the situation rather than being made public.

Call me a "have" all you want.  You have no idea regarding my situation, and I choose not to make it public.

I also wasn't "bashing" anyone.  I just find it peculiar that someone would "air their dirty laundry" on a public forum.  This isn't a place for that.  If this is the only place that he can "talk" about what's going on with him, then he has serious issues.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world.  Those who understand binary and those who don't.

Suppose he has no family left? He's already said he's in a new city, so its not like he knows an abundance of people there.

Citing that someone else has "serious issues" because they are handling something the best way they can? Wow...

Had you merely said something like "I wouldn't handle that situation in that manner" - that would have been a tactful way to respond.

I wouldn't call it pulling off a classic...I would call it needing serious professional help! Creating a whole story and running with it like this is beyond just "getting over" on us. It would be almost pathological!!

I'm not exactly known for being "politically correct".  I just tell it as I see it.

Also, I didn't make the "serious issues" comment regarding him "handling something the best way that he can".  I made the comment because if someone's only means of getting "help" is posting what is going on with his life on a public forum, then that person has serious issues.  Look at the kid in California that posted to many forums and ultimately to youtube prior to going off the deep end and killing several people.  That kid had serious issues.

I am by no means saying that BigJag57 is going to do something drastic or stupid.  I'm just saying that he really needs some professional help... if this is all really true.

Yes, if it is legit, I have empathy....if its just a sham and a troll post....then that would be pretty sick.

Never underestimate anything on the internet, especially in a public forum.

Oh, so blanket statement....everybody that posts a lot is likely to go off the deep end and kill people and have serious issues.

If the story is true he needs to seek professional help?? To me, it sounds like the wife is the one of the 2 that seems to need professional help....but whatever.

You could say that sort of thing about anything/ anyone, really.

I'm just as careful/ cautious about who I come across out in the real world, as I am with people on here. You always need to be alert/ open minded enough as to question things.

Yeah. I'm beginning to wonder about this myself. The fact that he's celebrating the number of pages the thread has gone is peculiar, and aside from Caldrac, there aren't many posters here who would be so willing to offer such intimate details about their lives in a forum like this. I think many here have been punked.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I think he means that he needs help because he seems to be handling everything to good. Up until last week he was in a happy marriage and in love with his wife, now he's ready to date. He hasn't grieved the lost of his relationship yet and when that shoe finally drops, it's not gonna be pretty.

Amazing how quickly he was able to flip that switch after being in what he perceived to be a happy marriage, isn't it?

I love it when a different point of view sheds light on a situation.  Yet I'm the jerk for bringing it up.

The funny thing is....if this was Caldrac, we'd question NOTHING, lol.... Laughing

There ain't many posters like him!

Oh, ok. I see what you are saying there. I agree.

If thats what jagibelieve meant, then I apologize. I thought jagibelieve was just meaning because he posted here looking for advice, then he automatically is a nutjob and needs professional help.

THats the one aspect that seems odd.

I know if that was me in his shoes...I'd be taking it a lot harder than he seems to be. I mean were talking a long term marriage here that just went kaplooey and I had assumed up until the very point when she started cheating that he was in love with her. Is there a possibility that maybe he wasn't in love with her anymore by that point?? Because thats one of the few ways that I could see him getting over it so quickly/ taking it so well.

LOL.  TMD, I rarely agree with you, but sometimes you need to use the noggin for other things rather than just cap numbers and music.

Very. Heck...I took longer getting over boyfriends I didn't really like than he is with the woman he is married to.
