Jags - Seahawks prediction

#81

Jaguars are notorious for showing up for these types of games when all odds are against them. I doubt we have any shot at winning, but i bet they make it watchable.

37 Seahawks 24 Jags

Game is pretty tight till about the 3rd, Seahawks pull away

Since everyone seems convinced the Jaguars won't win, will we still have threads complaining about whatever happened in game, seeing that it wouldn't have mattered anyway?

Btw, I expect a closer game than expected, 27-17.

If its going to be close, its going to be a low scoring game - not one that totals 61 points, IMO anyway...

Seattle 17

Jags 13

or something like that

The Jags - 10

Another dose of humility. Sad

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

We'll come out and stick with 'em in the first quarter in a half.  Then our inability to score points will become evident.  28-9.

I think the Seahawks will win but the game will be closer than most think. If I were a gambler, which I am not, I would take the 20 points. This is the NFL not college. Even for the elite teams, the talent difference from the best to the worst is generally not that large.

In addition, this is a classic "trap" game for the Seahawks. They were gearing up for the 49ers since training camp. Plus they match up very well against San Francisco and actually beat them by a worse score last year. And the game was a Monday night Nationally televised contest. The game tomorrow has let down"all over it.

I could be wrong. But I don't think any team that barely squeaked by the Panthers 12-7 just 2 weeks ago, should be 20 point favorites against anybody. In addition, the Jaguars 2 loses must be looked at differently now. The Chiefs are good. They just shut down the vaunted Eagle offense on the road during short week (Thursday night football). And the Raiders played the Colts much tougher than many expected in week 1 and were in the game right to the end.  Both those teams right now are better than the Panthers. By preseason standards the Jaguars 0-2 start looks bad. But by midseason their first 2 opponents will be considered tougher than they are now.

Seahawks 31

Jaguars 17

Seahawks 34,  Jaguars 9.

Even with the knowledge base Gus Bradley and co.  have of the Seahawks,   this is obviously a very difficult spot for the Jaguars.      Even with the injury that will keep Seahawks LT Russell Okung out much of the season.       If the Jaguars were relatively healthy and much further along in their rebuilding plan,    winning in Seattle would still be difficult.    The defending NFC Champion SF 49ers found that out the hard way last week and this past December.

Call me a massive homer with more money than sense

But I've just put a bet on Jags at $21.00 to beat the seahawks. I just have a funny feeling that Bradley gives this team a backbone it didn't have before and something special is about to happen against his old team

Quote:Its also the classic set up for a let down game by Seattle after an emotional division game. The 'Hawks were probably looking towards that San Fran game as soon as that schedule was released.

Jags could keep it close.
Just to many key players out for this to happen. I would love to see us compete but when your missing your best TE, number 2 WR and your best RB is injured it will take the wind out of your sails. It will all be on the defense to keep us in the game!

We've got Gabbert, Lewis, Blackmon, and MJD out so that makes this game more competitive. Only Blackmon will return next year - all the others will get cut or let go in free agency.  Still give the edge to the Seahawks, but not by much.  Seahawks 42, Jaguars 6.
