Ugh, this concerns me....


I am guessing that with the short week, Bridgewater is not going to have his top WR for this game, DeVante Parker as he went out with injury last week vs Temple.


Knowing #becausejaguars.....this will probably have an effect on Teddy's production for the upcoming game Thursday, and our scouts will be too stupid to take this into consideration and thus come away from this game with an opinion of Teddy that is selling him short....


Impossible scenario? remember, this is the Jaguars we are talking about....

I was wrong about Trent Baalke. 

Teddy completes passes to about everyone on the depth chart, so he doesn't need Parker to shred Rutgers. He just won't be lobbing anything in the endzone tomorrow.

Granted, most of us will have the intelligence to understand the factors that might cause Teddy to maybe not be "up to his usual great standards" tomorrow night, but again.....this franchise has a history of making bad decisions....they could be seeing Teddy at the wrong moment and it could ruin everything for us if the other part of what I said comes to fruition...(getting "unlucky and being at the game that one of the other QB prospects has their career game) ala Gabbert/ Gene Smith in Iowa....

Caldwell isn't Gene Smith.  Gene Smith loved trading away future picks for the 'now'.  Even when we weren't ready to be competitive.  In his first year he traded a future 2nd for a third.  In his third year he traded up to pick Blaine Gabbert.  In his last year we traded up to get Blackmon.  

 

The man fell in love with players.  Gabbert.  Alualu.  He was afraid of losing them.  If he thought they wouldn't fall to him, he had to move up and get them.  He'd overdraft them.  

 

That's not Caldwell.  He has yet to exhibit being enamored by a player.  He has yet to exhibit signs of player-loss fear.

I will personally guarantee you that this will not be the only Bridgewater game that Dave Caldwell watches. They'll look at his entire body of work and not just one game on a short week.

concerned that our group might catch Teddy in a less than stellar performance in person tomorrow night despite there being legit reasons if it does happen, i.e. no Parker, and short week. 

 

 

well, to be fair, not just any scouts/ GM.....our scouts/ GM. Yes, it may be a new regime, (the one that just gave away a good OLT for scrap) but its still the Jaguars, and I will assume the worst until they give me a reason not to. 

 

They've built up that kind of historical track record that spans regimes. (so they've earned that rep, can't blame fans for assuming the worst when it comes to decision making from Jags brass)
