Quote:I must say I really didn't expect the flack. The bottomline is that on many of the songs played, on the CDs they are from, you may have found rating labels which would probably clue-in a reasonable person that some of the music would have been inappropriate for the WHOLE crowd in attendance. But like I said earlier, it is a shame that as a society we are ambivalent to the lyrics and at the worst, see nothing wrong with some of the music being produced today. Look, did you just make up that entire story in the OP, particularly the part about your son & what he heard, because you don't like that particular kind of music?? If so, then I feel foolish and deceived for defending your take. I don't like a lot of current music today and think its mostly garbage, too....but unless its using the obscene lyrics/ content you cited in the OP, theres really a non issue in regards to the Jags/ practices. Aren't most Tapout shirts purchased on the discount rack at places like ROSS and TJ Maxx?
Quote:Look, did you just make up that entire story in the OP, particularly the part about your son & what he heard, because you doesn't like that particular kind of music?? Its blatantly obviously in his original OP that he dislikes rap music for "other reasons".

Quote:Something is telling me they aren't playing explicit music at these events, maybe your son heard it in the crowd.Or from daddy on his way to or from the practice. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I've attended a few of these practices, and they play all kinds of music. Last Sunday, they played a little rap, but I also heard Jimi Hendrix, country music, oldies, classic rock, and a lot of other categories. Rap was maybe 10% of it. And I've never heard anything even remotely objectionable in terms of lyrics.
Quote:Or from daddy on his way to or from the practice. I have a hard time believing in 2014 that his 10 year old hasn't ever heard that word before...

I am starting think the OP was meant for the News4Jax comments section or FCN Facebook page, where it would be treated as gospel.
Quote:Look, did you just make up that entire story in the OP, particularly the part about your son & what he heard, because you don't like that particular kind of music?? Nothing was made up. Myself and others I have spoken to validated what was played. By the way, I listen to all kinds of music, rap included, as do my kids - just not garbage. I'll end with this - it has been eye opening for me to see people defend obscenity and degrading lyrics being played from a PA system at a public school where families were present. There used to a time when we valued children, protected them and strove to maintain innocence from the corruption of the world. Sadly it appears about half celebrate their exposure and think nothing is wrong with that. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I don't believe your story. I think the Jaguars organization as a whole is smart enough to play music without cursing, and if they had done it before it would have been brought up before today. Here's another point.....if the Jaguars music at practices offends you, don't go. Nobody is defending them playing obscenity or music with degrading lyrics....we think you are lying. If your kids listen to rap music, whats the problem? 90% of rap music out there has curse words in it, but now its a problem? Quote:Nothing was made up. I see you still haven't responded to this simple request. Quote:Don't want the flack? Care to explain these comments? Who's defending that? If your story in the OP was TRUE, I was in agreement with your take. But if it was nothing but made up just so you could complain about the type of music they aired, then I would not be in agreement with your take. We show less advertisements to registered users. So this is a real story then? His 10 year old understood every word of the incomprehensible rap lyric except for that one.
Quote:Nothing was made up. Myself and others I have spoken to validated what was played. By the way, I listen to all kinds of music, rap included, as do my kids - just not garbage. I'm a little circumspect when people start to use terms like "obscene" in broad generalities. But beyond that, people aren't defending inappropriate lyrics to an audience of children here, they're questioning your veracity. An overwhelming number of people have heard the practice day playlist and outside of you, no one else appears to have heard anything particularly objectionable. Is it so hard to understand why that doesn't pass the smell test?
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

The only time I have heard profanity in music associated with this organization is when they streamed Johhny partyman manzeil's pro day. The music he had playing was uncensored and came across the website.
