Pirates up 2-0 in the 1st. Love the baseball package. Update 3-0 in the 1st. Update 4-0 in the 1st over SF.
Always great to beat the Nationals, even better to walk them off after coming back from 6-0 in the 7th!

So what's the deal with Pedro Alvarez? Is there any hope he can turn things around this year or no?
Quote:So what's the deal with Pedro Alvarez? Is there any hope he can turn things around this year or no?He's just been "Ehhh", both at the plate and at 3rd. When Harrison has been at third he has made some really nice plays there. Alvarez is your typical big hitter guy though. Lots of strikeouts, but will deliver the long ball. He'll be under his HR total from last year, but not drastically. His average is roughly the same as last season, and the season prior.

His batting average always sucked. Its not surprising to finally have this overall type of season for Alvarez.
Alvarez does have an injury but his errors were way up prior to that. He just needs to get his Chuck Knoblock mental issue right and get back to decent fielding.
I'm really liking Polanco -- really reminds me of a young unroided Barry Bonds.
Also, just got back from Mexico City as well and the district of Polanco was pretty cool too. Extreme wealth. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Man it was a long way back to .500 but we got there before the end of August. It should be a fun couple of months to close out the season, lets go Fish!
(Strausburg falls to 7-9)

Buccos going yard early and often, 2nd HR in as many innings, this one a two run shot scores two.

I like the Marlins & Rays as my #2 teams. Pretty funny to see Strausburg struggle given the genius front office decision to hold him out of September and the Playoffs to save his arm !!
Adam Jones has 4 straight seasons with at least 20 HRs and is a perennial gold glover and all star. Tillman is a top of the rotation starter. That may end up being one of the most one-sided trades in MLB history.

That may end up being one of the most one-sided trades in MLB history. I love Adam Jones, so the trade was definitely lopsided. Tillman is far from a "top of the rotation starter", though. His 3.97 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and 5.89 K/9 are pedestrian at best. Bedard was better than Tillman has been. The Tigers giving up peanuts (most notably Cameron Maybin and Andrew Miller) for Miguel Cabrera was more lopsided. Miggy has a Triple Crown, 2 AL MVPs, and 3 AL Batting Champion awards.

Check out the link below..... http://www.fishstripes.com/2013/12/5/517...reflection Miami was receiving offers left and right. The deals included hefty numbers of top prospect talent. The Los Angeles Dodgers were said to be offering some combination of Matt Kemp, Clayton Kershaw, and Andy LaRoche. Before 2007, Kershaw was the 24th-ranked prospect in baseball by Baseball America. Before 2008, he was at eighth. Kemp was batting .342/.373/.521 in a short Major League stint in 2007.
Quote:Check out the link below..... wow.....they turned down a deal that included both Kershaw AND Kemp??.....and wound up getting those 2 bums instead??? |
