The house has actually done quite a bit, passing budgets and other legislation that has been sitting on the Senate Majority Leader's desk.

 

Like? Be specific, explain how the bills they've been passing would help with implementing the President's mandate?


 

From day 1 of his presidency, there's never been a legitimate attempt to work with republicans.  His entire focus has been on dividing them

 

Specifically how has he done this? Be sure to cite something that actually happened and give us a link to it, you know, so we can all become as educated on this as you are.


 

We'll also just ignore the pesky little fact that for the first 2 years of his administration, he could do pretty much anything he wanted with majorities in BOTH houses of congress, and he decided to go all in with ObamaCare, foregoing all other issues in favor of his beloved, all knowing government taking control of 1/6 of our economy.  There were other much bigger issues he could have tackled, but he chose this one, while ignoring things like unemployment, energy independence, immigration reform, or a host of other missed opportunities.  Between ObamaCare and blaming Bush for everything, that pretty much encapsulates his entire presidency to date, unless you want to toss in the fact that this administration loves to call themselves a force for unity as they go out and target individuals and organizations with the full force of the government.  For being such a unifying presence, he sure knows how to divide a nation. 

 

He had 3 months during his first term with control of both houses. He got the ACA (something I hate) done. He also got the federal stimulus, in which he bent over backwards to appease republicans, done. You seem to really be up on this, though, so go ahead and tell me why I'm incorrect in my assertion that he didn't have a filibuster proof majority before Al Franken was seated and after Ted Kennedy died.


 

As far as "single payer" goes, judging from what a tremendous job they've done with the implementation of ObamaCare so far, we're fortunate he didn't get what he really wanted.  It's already a colossal failure.  That would just add an exclamation point to the ineptitude that is the Obama administration. 

 

As far as I can tell single payer isn't what he "really wanted" because he never even made any kind of push for it. Which is quite the shame. Having medicare for all would undoubtedly bend the cost curve like we need to (assuming the republicans didn't neuter the program as they did with medicare part D) while simultaneously granting 100% coverage across the nation, just like Canada.

Santorum, Bachmann, Palin? Aka Larry Curly and Moe. Then there's Guvnah Perry of Texas, who still doesn't look smarter with his new glasses. Christie? Viable, but has baggage, as does Cruz. Rubio? Maybe, as long as he can stay hydrated.

The GOP has no viable candidate that they will rally around.

When Mitt was the last choice, über right Limbaugh chastised the choice for months. Yeah, that helped.

Simply put, they beat themselves.

Money is the factor. Even a foreign company can donate if they have any affiliation here.

If Hillary runs, as I've mentioned before, I'm betting she wins. If she doesn't, it could be close. If its Elizabeth Warren or Biden then the GOP has a shot. But please, not another cluster * like McCain Palin. That was a nightmare.

As a Conservative, I could honestly care less about Palin, Bachmann, and Christie. Perry is a little too far right for some moderates, and Cruz and Rubio have a chance, but it will be a tough battle for them and anybody who wins the GOP nomination. The strongest, and in my opinion the only candidate who has a real chance of turning this Country around is Rand Paul. But he'll have to go toe to toe with the Hillary machine.

As long as your employer and insurance company allow you to, sure.

 

That said the act was moronic and tried WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too hard to appease republicans who would never be appeased anyway, which is why Single Payer should have been rammed through.

 

If you're going to unilaterally implement a plan it would be good to actually implement a good plan instead of the garbage corporate welfare handout that we got.
