But clearly the right in Congress could not have used their time and our tax dollars any better than calling over 50 votes to repeal ACA which bears a striking resemblance to the plan implemented on a state level by the last Republican presidential candidate.

Quote:The house has actually done quite a bit, passing budgets and other legislation that has been sitting on the Senate Majority Leader's desk. I look forward to your well researched and reasoned response, Junior.
Quote:I look forward to your well researched and reasoned response, Junior. The President has no mandate. The emergency of the Tea Party and subsequent flip of the House shows that the American public wanted a leash on his socialistic tendencies, especially after the craptastic legislation that is TARP and the ACA. "I won." You demonstrate a complete lack of understanding regarding healthcare if you think Medicare for all is a good idea. Medicare rates close private practices, so if you want a world full of "C" student, government employed physicians run like the VA, be my guest. I want no part of it. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

The nation spoke in 2012. More dems received votes for the house of representatives than repubs, it was gerrymandering by republican state legislatures that allows the republicans to keep control of that legislative chamber. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonk...a-mandate/ Additionally Obama easily won reelection in 2012. The actual national mandate is for the sort of moderate approach that Obama and the Dems have displayed, but thanks to the laziness of Dems in local and state elections the repubs get to have the numbers right now. It will be interesting to see if that continues as the demographics continue to tilt away from the republican stronghold of scared, old, and white.

Obama is guaranteeing that right now with his voter drive at the southern border. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

SomeONE actually voted "excellent", lol....
Thats obviously either as a "joke" or it was Brian.
Quote:There's that republican fear. Your hero is granting amnesty to 6 million illegals. The Republicans are giving in without much of a fight. That's not fear, it's fact. It's also foolish. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
Quote:Your hero is granting amnesty to 6 million illegals. The Republicans are giving in without much of a fight. No, that's too much fox news at work. Of course if you want to talk about amnesty look to Reagan: http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2014/0...ld-reagan/ We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:No, that's too much fox news at work. Yep, the man was a fool for trusting that the lying democrats would hold up their end of the bargain. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
Quote:FTFY. You're welcome. It's ok homie, we all know from your past posting that you're the telethon kind of "special." “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Quote:Yep, the man was a fool for trusting that the lying democrats would hold up their end of the bargain. But that trickle down economics thing worked out okay for the middle class.

Quote:But that trickle down economics thing worked out okay for the middle class. Things just aren't good enough for the wealthy yet, give it a few more years and a few more tax breaks, you'll see!
Quote:Easy to point fingers and complain. Any solutions for 2016?As a Conservative, I could honestly care less about Palin, Bachmann, and Christie. Perry is a little too far right for some moderates, and Cruz and Rubio have a chance, but it will be a tough battle for them and anybody who wins the GOP nomination. The strongest, and in my opinion the only candidate who has a real chance of turning this Country around is Rand Paul. But he'll have to go toe to toe with the Hillary machine. Obama's a clown. He's a hard left liberal who believes government is the answer to any problem. He's also mired in hypocrisy, like when he blathers on about compromise. Luckily, his run to greatly expand government came to a crashing halt in 2010, or we'd be in much worse shape now.
Quote:But clearly the right in Congress could not have used their time and our tax dollars any better than calling over 50 votes to repeal ACA which bears a striking resemblance to the plan implemented on a state level by the last Republican presidential candidate.Oh, you mean that act that was rammed through without one single vote of approval from the right? You mean the one that the president unilaterally has changed a handfull of times already (Illegally so, BTW) You mean that act? You mean that bill that that nasty old hag said had to be passed in order to find out what was even in it? PS: Can I still keep my doctor and health plan if I like them PERIOD? :whistling:
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
Quote:PS: Can I still keep my doctor and health plan if I like them PERIOD? :whistling: As long as your employer and insurance company allow you to, sure. That said the act was moronic and tried WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too hard to appease republicans who would never be appeased anyway, which is why Single Payer should have been rammed through. If you're going to unilaterally implement a plan it would be good to actually implement a good plan instead of the garbage corporate welfare handout that we got. |
