Teddy Countdown

(This post was last modified: 10-10-2013, 01:49 AM by flgatorsandjags.)

Quote:Even without Dalton, if the Bengals offered: A.J. Green + (Insert established all-pro) + (Insert established all-pro), you make the trade. Three guys that have proven to be among the best at their respective positions, are still young, and can fill holes on this team are worth a single pick. The Bengals don't really have much else to offer, but we are speaking hypothetically.
They have probably the best DT in football and one of the better DE in the league

If I were the Jaguars, I wouldn't pick up the phone. For anyone, for any deal regarding the #1 pick. I'm so fed up with the play at quarterback that, if I got a chance to get a QB that has a chance to be elite, I'm taking it. Three first rounders is cute and all, but I want a guy who can take this team deep into the playoffs and possibly a superbowl. I'm 21 years old, I've been a Jaguars fan since the 2002 game vs. the Philadelphia Eagles and the subsequent 11 years have been nothing but sub par QB'ing, or QB play that "gets the job done." I want to a Franchise QB. I almost feel like I'm owed that. So yeah, I agree with the poster that said he wouldn't trade 3 All-Pro players for a chance at Bridgewater. Because the damn Kansas City Chiefs had six probowlers last year and won two games. Added Alex freaking Smith and are sitting at 5-0 with Peyton Manning and Bronces. Hopefully he works out and becomes what I envision, and there's a chance that we either won't have a chance to pick him, we simply don't pick him, or he doesn't become the player we want. But one thing I've learned in my 11 years as a Jagaur fan is hope. If I didn't have any hope I wouldn't be a fan.

So all we need is 6 pro bowlers, an accomplished QB, and two amazing pass rushers? Wow why didn't we just do what the Chiefs did to begin with?!

You completely missed my point. My point was, it all starts with the quarterback. I think Bridgewater is the best one playing at the amateur level. The six probowlers won two games last year.

Nah I wasn't trying to disagree with you I was just emphasizing how lame it is that KC got a #1 pick with that team.

Karma stuck them with Fisher though.

I think Bridgewater would be a great pick, but the obsession with him on this board and by many other Jaguar fans (Twitter) has gone a little over the top.

You can't call somebody overrated when you've never seen said player even play, champ.

Quote:Not if you hate Dalton, like I do.

Bengals will never win anything significant with him as QB.

I agree with this. That people think you can win titles with this kind of QB, i.e. game manager" is folly. The only way you win with a QB like that is if you are able to assemble the "anomaly level defense" that a team like Baltimore assembled for its 2000 super bowl or Tampa did in 2002. With the new rules favoring offense, its possible we'll never see those level defenses for a long long time, if ever.

Just get the QB you already know is very good, and has the ceiling of players mentioned as some of the greats that play the position, i.e. how Bridgewater is seen to Luck/ Manning.

regardless, if you dont take three all pros for teddy suggests teddy is a top 5 qb right now, in the nfl.

I think its very telling that a scenario has to be made up where a team would give 3 all pro players for what amounts to 1 QB. A scenario that would amost certainly NEVER happen in the NFL anyways.

Why not just say 1 all pro player? Because it wouldnt be worth it.

Why not 2? Becuase it wouldnt be worth it.

Hailtoyourvictor your very hypo question tells me just how much even you think bridgewater is really worth. If not you would have came with a lower amount in your trade question. Something like next years first or just one proven player. Tells me you yourself think he is at least worthy of consideration for an All Pro player IMO.

Kiper was never a scout!!!

Nevermind that A general manager tried to recruit him as one.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Glad I'm not the only one tired of these ridiculous hypotheticals.

WOULD YOU TRADE THE FIRST PICK FOR THE SEATTLE SEAHAWKS DEFENSE STRAIGHT UP? IF THE MOON WAS MADE OF SPARE RIBS, WOULD YA EAT IT?

I bet the the RG3 and the 'Skins will finish with a better season than Bradford and the Rams. Any taker?

For which season?

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
