Quote:Also, keep in mind about Marqise Lee - it was Lageman talking about him.

A couple of months ago I posted something about hearing Lageman say that Akin Ayodele was the best pass rusher he's ever seen (something along those lines).

Now he's saying Lee had the best 1-on-1 drills he's ever seen.

Sound kind of similar. It's just Lageman speech.

Really doubt Lageman said that about Ayodele

ah FFS, he did - and it was on Radio when Ayodele was a rookie.  I heard it myself.  Don't want to believe me, that's fine.

Oh, yes, he absolutely did. I heard him say it.

Quote:perhaps.. Maybe some research on other hot and humid cities that have similar conditions and see if they are experiencing similar injuries. I'm betting we aren't the only team but tons of injuries but since we follow them closely it just looks like our team has more.
I would say most camps are going through it.  I am a Cowboys fan and they have quite a few camp injures.  NY Giants have had theirs....and checking in on camps on NFL.com....I see it all over.

Quote:First off, I think moving training camp would be a good idea. It falls under the ancient old category - Why not? It can only help.

Second, These rash of "injuries" most assuredly is bradley being careful. Maybe too careful. I don't mind the Vets being taken out at the drop of a wince but the rookies/bubble players need every snap.

Also, Glad to finally start hearing Lee's name. If he can stay healthy, Kid is gonna be good.
I thought Lee looked great in practice yesterday.  Very impressive...agree, looks like he is going to be a good one.

False. Injuries only happen to Jags

Lageman? Seems unlikely.

I don't remember him saying it about Akin (though I didn't listen to the show all that much back then), but I do remember him talking up Mincey a year or two before he cracked our starting lineup. I remember him also talking about Harrison of the Steelers before James even stepped into the spotlight.

As with anyone who evaluates players, sometimes you get them right, sometimes you don't. Jeff would naturally be more vocal about the positives on the team and players, but he can't exactly put someone on blast given that he has to work with them.

Is there a way to put the actually twitter posts tagged to teh front pages so that way we dont have to go thru pages of nothing to find those little nuggets?

Or is there an actual site that compiles them all without the comments

Maybe you weren't listening when he said it. He definitely said it.

I suppose anything is possible.

Just does not seem like something Lageman would say. He is not one to speak in hyperbole like that.

You heard every single radio broadcast for the past 10 or so years?

He said it.  I heard it, and others have confirmed it.

The reason we bring it up is because it IS something out of the ordinary to say.

IIRC, after a couple of preseason games where Akin was very impressive (and he had a very impressive training camp his rookie year), Lageman said he was the best pass rusher he had ever seen.

Yes, I was also shocked when I heard him say that.

But I definitely made a mental note about it because you don't hear that kind of hyperbole every day.

This Marqise Lee thing just reminded me of it.

Yeah I've heard Lageman say that about Akin as well. There tend to be a lot of players who practice really well but doesn't really translate to game day. How many times have we heard Jags coaches or Local/National media talk about how great Marcedes Lewis practices yet he nothing more then a blocking TE.
