Quote:hmm, im pretty sure Gabbert was "making strides"

I don't recall the head coach ever going out of his way to mention that Gabbert was stringing many high level practices in a row. Gabbert still was inconsistent.

At this point, the WR corps is so banged up, he's still going to get a great opportunity in these pre season games.

Yeah, Davis can do a little of everything, and while he isn't super physically gifted, he sure does produce when given the chance.

I'll be interested to see Telvin Smith take on some running plays this preseason. I think he'll be game.

lol Geno Hayes, a guy that should be in his prime, getting veteran days off.

At first I thought those were for ancient guys like Brad Meester.  Now it seems like anyone with 2+ years of experience doesn't have to practice regularly.

I'm sure it's not to rest the knee he had offseason surgery to fix.

Nah, must just be because he's qualified for the league pension he gets a day of rest and relaxation at Club Gus. Must be nice, geez.

Thing about Davis is when he's been on the field. Both preseasons and late in last regular season, he seems to get pressure on the QB.

Notable: Linder was inserted back into the 1st team in his second practice back.

*Nickel defense features Telvin Smith, Poz, W Blackmon

*Henne 17 snaps 6 of 7, Bortles 12 snoas 5 of 6, Morris 4 snaps 0 of 4

*C Brewster pushed back during run game

*Denard Robinson with 2 drops.

All of the reports I've read or heard about Brewster indicate he's just getting manhandled out there.

Lageman was talking about Telvin Smith in the nickel package saying he was looking good.

sounds like Drob has had a couple bad practices. Hopefully he picks it up in the preseason because he has the talent to make some big plays for this offense.

Yea Mike B is definitely on the bubble, it's nice to be versatile but not when you get handled at every position, the guy just doesn't possess the functional strength and leverage it takes to play at this level.

If he can't catch/ hold on to the football, he's essentially another Alvis Whitted.

DRob is hit and miss, but like I said previously, wouldn't shock me if he gets cut.

I agree...

"Versatile" should mean you're good at more than 1 position, not you "suck at more than 1 position"
