People are writing Drob off after 1 season in which he transitioned from a college QB to an NFL RB while having a nerve injury which didnt allow him to hold a firm grip on anything. Man... this place will never cease to amaze me.

Man... this place will never cease to amaze me.give it time.. I'm sure the usuals will top themselves. Quote:When hes labeled as an Offensive Weapon and the fans talk him up to this amazing player but all i see from him is speed and butter hands. Ill give him this year to make his case but if Storm beats him out for #2 back then ill happily say goodbye to the project.Same thing Matt Jones was brought in for. The guy couldn't throw, and didn't really like taking a hit. DRob had trouble holding on to the football last year, but if he can fix that then he's got a good chance to see himself inserted into a lot of different offensive situations.

Like i said ill give the guy this season but if he doesnt live up to the hype AGAIN then we can use his roster spot for someone else next season. Dont think he will beat Storm for the 3rd RB spot tho and what is he like 6th or 7th on the WR list

I figured since he was the Offensive Weapon they would have him play ever position. Shoot im still waiting for him to try out center cause Brewsters just gonna get mowed down all season
Quote:Yeah I've heard Lageman say that about Akin as well. There tend to be a lot of players who practice really well but doesn't really translate to game day. How many times have we heard Jags coaches or Local/National media talk about how great Marcedes Lewis practices yet he nothing more then a blocking TE.

Give him some time to learn and develop.

That's very generous of you. Hopefully this year's draft class can live up to your totally reasonable expectations of greatness.

Exp if Storm sees alot of play time and is very productive.
He has been given 2 offseasons, and will be given 2 preseasons at least.
That's plenty of time, especially in this day and age.

He'll be given every opportunity and then some to make the team. He's far too too talented and athletic to not do so. He'll be given a chance to compete with everyone else. Personally as long as his injury from last year is healed he should be better hanging onto the football and if that's the case I don't think he's going anywhere.

From my twenty years of football experience, converted QBs who can't hold onto the ball or catch don't make it far in the NFL. I'd love to see Denard get healthy and figure out ball security, but it seems he won't even surpass Matt Jones in terms of production. There is a reason this guy fell to the 5th round. Again, I would love to be proved wrong, just calling it as I see it. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I remember when he broke off that long run only to fumble on the 1 yard line... Damn near broke my heart. I felt really bad for him.

And those flashes of talent is why he'll be given a every opportunity to make the team. If he can improve his ball security chances are we'll see more runs like that.
