Other than the recent report that he had 2 drops...I hadn't seen anything else from this offseason that would lead me to believe ball security would be an issue going forward

Quote:I remember when he broke off that long run only to fumble on the 1 yard line... Damn near broke my heart. I felt really bad for him.

That play sums up his career.

This. From what I recall his hands have been phenomenal this camp besides that report.

Quote:From my twenty years of football experience, converted QBs who can't hold onto the ball or catch don't make it far in the NFL. I'd love to see Denard get healthy and figure out ball security, but it seems he won't even surpass Matt Jones in terms of production. There is a reason this guy fell to the 5th round. Again, I would love to be proved wrong, just calling it as I see it.

At this point the odds are probably against him and I'm not saying he's going to be the next Barry Sanders or Gale Sayers here. What I am saying is he'he's a gifted athlete that from just about everything I've read from the team has put in the work this offseason and made strides in hanging onto the ball. He's also added some weight in the gym too iirc. He's a 5th round pick and people might have too high expectations of him based on that. However I stand by he's going to get very chance to make the team because he is a heck of an athlete. He has the ability but making the position change could prove to be too much, we will see. I don't feel he's in danger of being cut right now though. Time shall tell.

And you can chalk up that recent bad report as DRob just having an off day.

Well, its a night game, so jersey color really doesn't matter, but I already know that Gus handles that smartly as we wore white in hot September day games last year. That trend is likely to continue. He's clearly not Del Rio, Thank God!!!!

It's a storied past.  Of course, the story only has one chapter, but it's storied nonetheless.

Onobun had a previous stint with the Jags in 2011 if I'm not mistaken.

Looks like Denard is playing third behind Storm on Friday. I guess those drops hurt him a bit on the depth chart? Perhaps I'm reading to much into it.

Denard is a change of pace guy. He will never be looked at as a feature type back. The other guys' styles are more similar to eachother.
