Texans are close to acquiring Ryan Mallett

Quote:Maybe someone can help me here but I'm trying to think of which QB TMD wanted from the recent drafts. I've got teddy, Barkley, mallett, and lefevour right now.

Anyone remember others?

As of now only 1 of those probably has a shot at ever even being a starter for more than a season.

Minus teddy we are looking at career backups or NFL wash outs. Hahahahahahhaha

Pretty sure he wanted Sanchez too

He was on the Quinn Gray bandwagon.

Yes, I think you're right, I seem to recall him calling for the Jaguars to trade for Sanchez, or pick him up when released.

It would really fit with the way their GM has been doing things as of late.

Are you guys really having a discussion about which QBs a particular poster wanted?

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

My copy/paste on my phone is acting up, but I just read on NFL.com that now it wouldn't be a surprise if Jimmy G passed up Mallett on the depth chart.

I wouldn't call it a discussion, more like a group spanking.

Quote:Rookie Jimmy Garappolo, meanwhile, looked decisive while completing 9-of-13 passes for 157 yards and a second-half score. He threw a few pretty deep balls. It wouldn't be a shock if he passed Mallett on the depth chart this month.

We talking about the same guy?

2013:

52.3% Completion Rate. (worse than any of the 37 qualified quarterbacks)

5.51 Yards Per Average (worse than any of the 37 qualified quarterbacks)

4 TDs

7 INTs (worse TD:INT ratio than any of the 37 qualified quarterbacks)

3 Fumbles

58.4 QB rating (worse than any of the 37 qualified quarterbacks)

Cousins has been terrible. Not sure where this notion that Cousins is a good QB comes from.

Quote:So he uh forgot to show up tonight huh?

He disappointed last night, especially in lieu of Garoppolo's line. Had Garoppolo also done poorly, then you could have argued that it wasn't so much Mallett but all the Patriot QB's struggling, like in past pre seasons.

Yes, 3-11 for 19 yards and a pick is clearly better than 5-12 for 50 yards.

THis year the QB's I was advocating for in the month leading up to the 2014 draft was Bridgewater, Manziel & Garoppolo, actually.

2013: I had mild interest in drafting Geno, but didn't want him at 2. Did want Barkley in round 4...same round we drafted Rob Johnson.... yeah, thats a real knee slapper.

2012: Luck (but everyone wanted him, so I guess don't count) Did also want to draft Cousins in round 3 or later.

2011: Kaepernick at 16. Was strongly anti-Gabbert in the 4 weeks leading up to the draft.

Incorrect. In Sanchez' draft year I had interest in the Jags selecting him. Show me the posts where I advised to trade for Sanchez in recent years of his career/ or pick him up when he was released. I'll wait...and then become a fossil....as you attempt to find something that doesn't exist.

Maybe I was wrong on that, then.

That's why Mallett is expendable.

Not because he's valuable to anyone else, it's that he's no longer useful to the Patriots.
