Quote:not sure though but wasnt that kind of campaign started with luck? due to the colts apparently tanking? ive also heard the bust for barkley early last year lol

Suck for Luck was underway well before the 2012 NFL season started.

Quote:There's a widely reported and half-serious "Tank for Teddy" campaign that's being conducted among several fanbases right now. How many other quarterbacks in the 21st century had that? There was "Suck for Luck", and... what else?

Quote:yeah i deny its credibility when they have no background in scouting. i like teddy i wouldnt mind having him, i just dont agree with the hype he gets in this board lately.

The concerns about @UofLFootball QB Teddy Bridgewater's lack of competition are way overblown. He is playing D-1 football vs. top athletes

It's a silly narrative that takes away from his evaluation. Yes, I would like to see him play vs. top 10 defenses, but the AAC is not 1-AA

It's not like he is a small school QB who doesn't face NFL caliber players throughout the season. UConn, Rutgers and UC had prospects in '13

Genocide was birthed and killed by the message boards along with Geno's brief hype as a future no. 1 pick. Never really got off the ground.

Quote:my problem with that is it practically says hes as good, if not better, than rg3 as a prospect.

I'd also say he's as good, if not better, than RG3 as a prospect as well.

Keep in mind, this time two years ago, RG3 was not projected to be the #2 overall pick.

Jags need Manziel about as much as they need a hole in the head.

(For the anatomically challenged, the answer is: Not at all)

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

I can't believe you all really let one hyper argumentative troll pick one tiny statement about Teddy and twist it into a 5 page and counting thread. Just ignore the fool and move on. He doesn't deserve our time or explanations at this point he's just doing it for attention. Don't give it to him.

i actually dont mind anymore him playing against subpar opponents as long as he keeps dominating. its not his fault thats his competition.

yeah i would hold off on that, its only october and look how rg3 went prospect wise in a span of a season, look what happened to barkley and geno they were projected 1-2 pick this time last season.

At this point in time, October 2013, Teddy is a better NFL prospect than RG3 was, October 2011.

Maybe Teddy has a monumental collapse at the end of the season. Who knows. But as of right now, I'm of the opinion he's better than RG3 was at this stage. And if we're talking RG3 at age 20, it's not even close -- Teddy in a landslide.

Barkley and Geno were not the prospects that Teddy currently is, so mentioning them is a moot point.

i agree on all those points but we are comparing teddy to prospects when they were drafted not a few months before, and with that in mind, on draft day 2012, is teddy the same prospect that rg3 was?

Former NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah compared Louisville junior QB Teddy Bridgewater to Russell Wilson.

"When I'm watching him he's just so efficient and so comfortable, I think of Russell Wilson," Jeremiah said when asked if Bridgewater reminded him of another prospect. "You know Russell Wilson had the size concerns, but the pocket movement and awareness, the instincts for the game, Teddy Bridgewater has that." The Louisville passer is not much of a runner and shines in the pocket, but his ability to make things happen in confined spaces is very impressive. He is the top quarterback prospect right now, but watch out for Oregon's Marcus Mariota.

One NFL scouting director told NFL.com's Albert Breer there is "no sure thing" among this May's draft-eligible QB prospects.

More teams then normal are sending high-level personnel people to do work on this quarterback class, and the scouting director noted it is because of the prospects' potential. "Teddy Bridgewater is the presumptive first guy, but his hold on that designation isn't necessarily permanent," Breer writes. Redshirt sophomores Marcus Mariota, Brett Hundley, and Kevin Hogan will draw attention as well.

HeeRo you're telling people to hold off on the hype.

But you're ready to call a group of guys potential franchise QBs without having seen any of them play...

I've watched pretty much watched every video of Bridgewater's 2012 and 2013 games that's on youtube, and he consistently misses deep passes to open, streaking receivers by 2 yards. It's frustrating, because there's much to like with him, but a Super Bowl caliber QB needs be able to hit on those.

I'll atleast give you credit for finally learning how to spell Manziel.

RG3's dual-threat potential was (and still is, obviously) as good as anyone's in history, but I have to imagine that you take the guy with Teddy's experience in a pro-style offense when he's shown to have unmatched pocket presence, dominance mentally at the line of scrimmage, and superior durability.

Arguably the most notable pass of his career was on the exact type of throw you're describing.

Daniel Jeremiah is one analyst. We need to hear it from many analysts - former quarterbacks, former coaches, former geneal managers. And yes, more former scouts if the TV networks have any.

Another analyst whose last name I can't remember wrote on NFL.com we should disregard the strength of Louisville's opponents. He thinks Bridgewater is the real deal.
