Hey Justin Blackmon....did you watch Bortles last night?

Quote:True, but he still may be allowed back onto the field. And how long will that last before the next violation? Unless he puts the demons behind him, it'll be a never ending cycle. There's a track record here that is a pretty good indicator that beating alcohol. may be a task he's just not capable of accomplishing. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

There's a track record here that is a pretty good indicator that beating alcohol. may be a task he's just not capable of accomplishing. Who knows? With lessened penalties though, it still may be possible to have a career while dealing with those personal issues. One thing we have found out is that its not the NFL lifestyle that's enabling Justin, so that's something to be positive about if anyone is looking for a lining. It's all personal issues with him. Who knows, if it affects his play, maybe that could be a catalyst for change? Maybe he never will. But, in my opinion, a lifelong ban for marijuana and alcohol use seems extreme. Quote:Who knows? It's not a lifetime ban unless he allows it to become one. R. Jay Soward wasn't issued a lifetime ban from the NFL. He simply gave up trying to get his life on track to make it back. I fear the same outcome with Blackmon. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:It's not a lifetime ban unless he allows it to become one. R. Jay Soward wasn't issued a lifetime ban from the NFL. He simply gave up trying to get his life on track to make it back. I fear the same outcome with Blackmon. Essentially, it is. It's an indefinite ban and if he can't overcome addiction to alcohol/marijuana then he'll never play again. The NFL is saying alcoholics aren't welcome to play in the NFL, however people accused of rape and spousal abuse and convicted felons are welcome. Quote:Essentially, it is. It's an indefinite ban and if he can't overcome addiction to alcohol/marijuana then he'll never play again. The players agreed to the CBS where those things are highly regulated and the punishments are firmly set in stone. The other legal actions you bring up don't have set punishments assigned to them like controlled substance violations. Let's not act like Blackmon has a small problem with booze and smoking a couple joints. He's been pulled over for drinking and driving multiple times. Get a damn taxi for crying out loud. Have a friend drive you. Whatever. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Essentially, it is. It's an indefinite ban and if he can't overcome addiction to alcohol/marijuana then he'll never play again. As has already been pointed out, the rules were agreed upon by the players when the new CBA was ratified. The rules on substance abuse are laid out and crystal clear for the players. That's not the same for other legal infractions. Since Blackmon isn't a rapist or a wife beater, let's focus on what he is, an alcoholic who can't stay out of trouble. As long as that's the case, his time in the NFL is going to be brief. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote: Thats how I see it too. Justin on the Jaguars is good for everyone involved. Down with the negativity!!
Quote: Yep, pretty sick when you put it that way. The NFL's disciplinary policy is [BLEEP] backwards. Quote:Thats how I see it too. Coming from Mr.Positivity himself. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Coming from Mr.Positivity himself. I've actually been very positive toward most of the Gus Bradley/ Caldwell regime Jaguars players. Sanders/ Cyp/ Gratz are pretty much my only targets of those. Quote:I've actually been very positive toward most of the Gus Bradley/ Caldwell regime Jaguars players. Quote:I don't care what you naysayers think. I'm going to hold out hope that he will return by 2015 at the latest and will resume playing at a very high level. Top 10 smartest posts you have ever made over the last decade.
I still would love to see him get his life together but I fear the chances are getting slimmer by the day. I would love to see him at with Bortles for sure.

"Targets" Don't forget about your newest "target": cancer-stricken George Yarno. Always desperately searching for your next target. What a loser....
Somebody has lost their mind.... Blackmon will never play in the NFL again.
I ain't no monkey... I'm an ape.

As excited as I am about this team, I couldn't help but wonder how much better we would look with Blackmon and Alex Mack out there.
I was just as hopeful as you were about Blackmon Mad Dog but his latest stunt proved how serious he was about getting back into the league

Quote:"Targets" High Score, you are a tool.
I'm pretty sure every night in Blackmon's house involves plenty of bottles... Oh sorry you said 'Bortles'. Never mind, carry on.
