Wonder if he was depressed because his latest show was cancelled not to long ago?

Um, that's freaky?  Oh lord, no wonder everyone avoids my party invitations.  David Carradine always accepted, though.

Quote:Didn't he have a known history of drugs and many other personal problems?

I was never much a fan of him as a comedian, but I thought he was a really good actor.  I guess he decided his time was up.  At least he had a good run.

Drugs, alcohol. Very well documented.

Sad to hear of his passing.

I always thought his role in One Hour Photo was his best. Supremely underrated.

I liked that one as well. I have not seen it in a few years but noticed it is streaming on Netflix. I may have to revisit it this week.

So wrong.   But Michael Hutchence was on the guest list too, right?

Robbins has a well documented history of drug addiction and subsequent rehab, relapse, rehab, relapse and so on....  So, while it's devastatingly tragic -- I'm afraid I can't say I'm shocked.  He's always had an aire of desperation about him from his pre Mork and Mindy stand-up till Alladin and beyond.  Its a horrible, horrible shame, but he  did seem to be harboring serious demons all along.

Unfortunately, you are right.

I get the sense that a lot of comedians are this way. The persona they have on stage and on screen is to mask some personal tragedy or inner pain.

One of my favorites, one of the best at what he did. Rest in peace.
