Limbaugh: Robin Williams killed self because he was a liberal
|
“He had everything, everything that you would think would make you happy. But it didn’t. Now, what’s the left’s worldview in general? What is it? It you had to attach not a philosophy but an attitude to a leftists worldview, it’s one of pessimism and darkness, sadness. They’re never happy are they? They’re always angry about something. Not matter what they get, they’re always angry,” he says.

Rush is a genius and single-handedly helped save AM radio, but he's an entertainer, not a political philosopher. And to his credit he'll say as much. His audience expects a certain view and slant to everything and he doesn't disappoint. So what's his take when a conservative kills himself? A liberal conspiracy?
The sun's not yellow, it's chicken.
Mods:
May I post a spot-on retort to this awesome hypocritical and mean spirited clown (Limbaugh) if it has a little salty language?
Quote:Mods: I'm pretty sure the board automatically filters that out. Apparently the only thing you can't mention here is anything related to anything religious, even if it's just good spirited humor. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Limbaugh believes this like Bayless believes everything he says about Tebow and Lebron.
It's sensationalism. Nothing more.

Expecting Rush Limbaugh to show some class would be like expecting Joe Biden to stop putting his foot in his mouth. It's an uncontrollable reflex to say something stupid.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
I didn't hear the statement or the context but it wouldn't surprise me. Rush is a shock jock with a conservative spin but still a shock jock.
That pompous [BLEEP] could only dream to be mourned by so many. There will be plenty that do a happy dance when his sorry but kicks it.

Well now I'm not sure what to think. Did Limbaugh link the suicide or the COVERAGE of the suicide to Williams politically leanings?
http://twitchy.com/2014/08/12/people-who...say-again/ That's a pretty big difference than what I've been reading online.
Well for anyone that wants to make their own mind up here's the transcript, pretty different from what is being claimed Limbaugh said.
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2014/0...ture_media Quote:Well for anyone that wants to make their own mind up here's the transcript, pretty different from what is being claimed Limbaugh said. He links the amount of coverage to genuine affection for the guy, but also links his depression despite his success to a leftist world view. Thus linking his suicide (caused by said depression) to a leftist world view. Quote:He links the amount of coverage to genuine affection for the guy, but also links his depression despite his success to a leftist world view. Thus linking his suicide (caused by said depression) to a leftist world view. That's a stretch, he said the coverage was do to the leftist world view of celebrities. He also said the leftist had problems understanding why someone with so much would be so sad, that it's the leftist culture to be pessimistic which leads to depression. He never said Robin Williams committed suicide because of his leftist world view, which is what's being reported in several publications today. I'm not defending what he claims, I'm just saying in context it's not at all what's being reported. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! It's, to me, clearly saying that the leftist world view is one of "sadness" and that's why Williams wasn't happy.

He never said Robin Williams committed suicide because of his leftist world view, which is what's being reported in several publications today. It's not a stretch to follow the blueprint he's laid out for us: Leftist views = pessimism = depression = suicide. As if Williams were some kind of commie, with all the USO tours he had under his belt. By the way, my super right-wing relatives are the ones in my family that are never happy, always angry. I avoid them more than I avoid Limbaugh. But I digress. Here's the retort to Limbaugh's predictably mean statements about Williams that I found on thesuperficial.com. The parenthesis are mine, but those are the only words that are mine. Rush Limbaugh is a drug addict whose (male organ) doesn't work, so when it comes to finding a pillar of moral virility and strength in this time of limp-wristed liberals hanging themselves from “depression” – Quotation markets dedicated to Matt Walsh, (unpleasant person). – look no further than radio’s own masculine Boss Hog and resident psychiatrist. Mediaite reports: Limbaugh began by discussing the left’s “worldview” as one of “pessimism and darkness” before turning more specifically to the news about Williams’ suicide. … “He had it all, but he had nothing,” Limbaugh opined. “He made everyone else laugh, but was miserable inside.” “It fits a certain picture, or a certain image that the left has,” he continued. “Low expectations and general unhappiness and so forth.” I could get into the fact that what Rush calls “pessimism” is a realistic view of America where minorities and non-upper class whites are (treated unpleasantly) left and right coupled with a desire to change that instead of telling people to pull themselves up by bootstraps they can’t even afford anymore because a living wage is socialism or some (made-up) boogeyman to keep the rich richer. I’m not even going to get into that. What am I going to do is address all the conservatives out there battling depression because it’s an illness that doesn’t care about race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or more specifically, party line. Rush Limbaugh just called you a (wimp). And he called you a (wimp) for something as innocuous as your brain not producing the right amount of chemicals. Or perhaps it was even impacted from fighting in a war, but none of that matters because Rush Limbaugh who’s never seen combat or had the (guts) to speak open and honestly about his own addiction except to shoo away an arrest says you’re a (very bad) whiner. Well, I’m here to reach across the aisle and say (screw) him. A pompous (dirt)bag who claims to be a Christian just judged (you) for being weak when everyday you fight back a dark cloud and slog your way through a world this pampered walrus would curl up and die in after five seconds. That’s real strength. And if that dark cloud is getting too big, don’t let dying fossils make you second guess your masculinity, get professional help. (Omitted religious reference) A real man finds the humility to recognize when something’s wrong, fixes what’s broken, and carries on. I may disagree with you politically, but I disagree even more with a (person born to parents that aren't married) and his dying breed of machismo that makes you second guess your right to this world by calling you weak when you are anything but. (Screw) him. Fight on. Quote:To me, "'He had everything, everything that you would think would make you happy. But it didn't.' Now, what is the left's worldview in general? What is it? If you had to attach not a philosophy but an attitude to a leftist worldview, it's one of pessimism and darkness, sadness. They're never happy, are they? They're always angry about something. He has made millions with this schtick and some buy it hook line and sinker. Division. Boogeymen. Injustice. Hate.
Only a chump boos the home team!

Quote:Well now I'm not sure what to think. Did Limbaugh link the suicide or the COVERAGE of the suicide to Williams politically leanings? The entire thing was taken out of context which is nothing unusual. I read several accounts on this, and actually listened to the audio earlier. He was talking about the media coverage, not the suicide itself. Examiner article pointing out the full context. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
