Are The Browns Really Tanking The Season?

Who do y'all see winning more games....Jags or Browns? I really hope we end up with the 1st pick of the 2014 Draft and selecting Teddy Bridgewater.

Jags, because we play the browns and something tells me that will be our one win.

The Browns front 7 on Defense might turn out to be a strength,   providing their Defense isn't on the field most of the game.      Through two games,   the Browns run Defense has performed at a high level.    They will be tested later today by Adrian Peterson and co.       The Browns also have one of the best CB's in the NFL in Joe Haden.

Even with huge question marks at best on most of their Offense,   the Browns Defense might be good enough for them to win 3 to 5 games.      Unless the Browns make one or more other trades,    I don't anticipate them being in the top 3 of the 2014 Draft unless they trade up.

What 3-5 games do you see the Browns? looking at their schedule the only winnable game I see for them is Dec. 1 against our Jags.

It's impossible to predict the state of each team,  especially regarding injuries,   when the game is actually going to be played.

Using the current situations of teams,      in addition to the Jaguars,     the 2 games against the Steelers and the games against the Bills and Jets are contests that the Browns have a realistic chance.     So much depends on how much Willis McGahee has left in the tank,    whether another RB will emerge,     and if the return of WR Josh Gordon from a suspension can give them a boost in the coming weeks.

Of course you do.. But I think teams still tank seasons for that special player they want. They just won't come out and say it.

Suck for Luck was a great example I think..

When a win actually hurts us more than it helps us, count on the Jaguars to get it.

Yeah, pretty much.

Just like in 2011 when we got those meaningless wins vs Indy and they got Luck.

Of course it happens, and of course that was just one of many examples in pretty much all major sports....but they did it, no matter how hard they protest that that did not happen...

He's smart. Thats what we should have done that year with players like Maurice Drew. I remember suggesting that and the geniuses on here went ballistic arguing that trading MJD would be stupid....lol....

no, keeping MJD on a garbage team until his trade value has diminished to just about zero has proven to be stupid, ...beyond stupid. But hey...we got those extra meaningless couple wins in a season that totaled 5-11!!!  Yay!!!!

Sure they will try to win till the fourth quarter and stink it up on purpose sure. More like they will do their best to win. So their fans forget about the trade. Seams more likely.

If Gordon plays lights out they will retract shopping him. See teams do it all the time.

I am in Cleveland and watching the game.  (Just had an ugly pick deep in their end of the field)  They are at least making it interesting for their fans.  That is something the jags have not done in forever.
