Who is Andrew Luck?

Quote:I'm gonna enjoy the "Luck vs Bortles" match ups for a long time.me too I think it's gonna be fun. I don't think Bortles is where luck was during his rookie year but I think it's just a matter of time. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:me too I think it's gonna be fun. I don't think Bortles is where luck was during his rookie year but I think it's just a matter of time. Luck was a much more polished, more NFL ready QB by his junior year. He played at ucf instead of Stanford so less press. If you were going by where they're at with coaching, luck after his junior year is probably about where bortles will be after this year.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
The Jaguars were nationally broadcast last night. Did you indy fans see what we've been talking about regarding Bortles and the comparisons to Luck/Roethlisberger?

Quote:I don't see how they couldn't. Every other word from the team in the booth was "Roethlisberger." Seems our colts regulars are feeling a little shy on the board today. Here's the thread on the colts.com message board about Bortles. http://forums.colts.com/topic/30085-blake-bortles/ If you just want the cliffs notes version, most of them are either scared of the notion of the Jaguars being competitive or hopeful that there will finally be a true rival in the division. "Last night against the Bears I watched Blake just to see what he had. He has a spiral on his throws that looks as good as any I have seen."
- King Colt What's this? I thought BB throws ducks????????????????

Quote:Seems our colts regulars are feeling a little shy on the board today. Colts regulars? Who is it besides me? I would like to know lol (not counting Sammy)... I really like Bortles, I think he'll be a good QB. I LOVED the roll out play in his end zone pass to the sideline (even though it was incomplete it was beauty of a pass). I just find it funny everyone here ringing his bell like he's going to be the best QB in the NFL after playing 2 preseason games and going against backups. When Colts fans did the same thing with Luck (except he was playing starters) all of you called me a homer & irrational.... Sigh... So in conclusion: what I've seen from Bortles looks like the tools & makeup to be a good QB, but I want to see more from him (preferably against starters) & I'm not going to crown him after 2 preseason games. EDIT: Also in that link you posted... There is a Saints fan, Texans fan, & Pats fan posting in that thread as well...

Besides you there are guys like artieziff and other closet troll types that like to come out of the woodwork to say something negative whenever they get the chance. Now, about Bortles, no one here is crowing him yet, but all indicators so far are of the extremely positive sort. He's throwing all the right levers and pushing all the right buttons. Keep in mind that you guys went from Peyton Manning B) to Curtis Painter  to Andrew Luck B) in the course of a season.
Now keep in mind that we went from... Mark Brunell ![]() ![]() ![]() It's hard for us not to be excited since our Smiley Face guy could have sunglasses for the first time ever.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
I'm not sure there is a face to show how bad Painter was. Any journeyman qb could have taken that team to quite a few wins. Even Orlovsky started winning at the end
Quote:Why wasn't Bortles as hyped? He looks like he has more potential than Luck... He wasn't expected to come out of college. By the time he did, the Bridgewater and Manziel hype machines were in full force. All that "outside" noise masked what was really going on in the evaluation rooms.

I've been very impressed with Bortles over the first couple preseason games. Not to get sidetracked, but I've been even more impressed with the Jags' front seven. Watching Henne play is painful, to say the least. The point is, it seems like the Jags could possibly make some noise this year with Henne out of the way. Henne is going to constantly look for ways to lose games. I know the idea is to not throw Bortles in the fire, but how long can the Jaguars really keep him on the bench?
Quote:Colts regulars? Who is it besides me? Quote:Luck looked really good vs NY tonight. Did he? I watched on mute ( can't handle the overpraise) and he dinked and dunked ok and basically looked the same guy as seasons past, most dangerous when pocket breaks and he's on the move. Accuracy still spotty. YPA under 5? He really doesn't need to do much to be "impressive". Seemed Nicks did most the work
I admit the Jaguars have been looking good. Bortles is showing he is developing nicely so as a Texans can I give props where it's due.
I'm glad my Texans looked great too. Though I wanted to see more Savage tonight. |
