He got a total of 8 snaps today with the 1s in the REDZONE. 3 came from 11on11s and 5 from 7on7s once again in the REDZONE you know that area we never seem to find in the regular season. Oh and 8 snaps for a backup that seems fine.

I'm willing to bet the amount of snaps will gradually (though not substantially) increase over the course of the next couple weeks.

He's getting his last bit of extensive playing time this week. We'll get a heavy does of the other guys next week vs. Atlanta. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:I think Bortles might actually start versus Atlanta. Woudn't surprise me. Or get at least 1-2 quarters. Get him some meaningful playing time, especially if he's not going to be starting. Once the season starts, he will basically just be studying the playbook and doing "mental reps" because the majority of the snaps will go to the starter preparing for the other team.

but hold on.... Brewster played well according to Lageman and everybody else. Us common folk don't know what we are looking at. We need the coaches and team employees to interpret the games for us. They said he played "well". Why change now?

We need the coaches and team employees to interpret the games for us. They said he played "well". Why change now?I still don't see how anyone can say that he played well. He singlehandedly ended 3 offensive drives in less than 4 quarters of preseason football. That's bad any way you choose to slice it up. Unacceptably bad, IMO. You only get so many chances to possess the ball. You can't have your starting center just waste 3 of them per game.
