I was skeptical about Khan's commitment to Jacksonville at first but he's been everything you could ever hope for and more. The Job he's done is nothing short of amazing, almost feels unreal when looking at what he's done.

Best thing about Shad is that he's more visible than Wayne Weaver. Great hires and great vision

He'd still be headstrong on Gabbert & gunshy to go with another WR that had an issue with weed ......  I think the obvious choice for him would have been Kahlil Mack.  Maybe Jake Mathews.

I don't know about less involved. Lamping was huge, but Shad, organizationally is top notch. From financial commitment, business ventures, showing up at practice, to wearing Hawaiin shirts on Void magazine promoting his product. Day to day operations, I don't know what that entails, but being "involved" I'd say he's hovering around the top. Maybe that's to Lamping's credit, maybe Shad. Who will ever really know.

Lamping has proven to be a brilliant hire by Khan.  He is his eyes and ears on the ground when Shad isn't in Jax, and he has shown he has a great vision for this team, and more importantly, for this city.

Lamping has been phenomenal. And look at his resume. He ran one of the best baseball organizations for a decade and helped get their new stadium built. He oversaw construction of the most expensive stadium in North America. Impressive guy.

If you look at what they've done in the area surrounding the baseball stadium in St. Louis, you'll have a pretty good idea of what they want to do here.  Lamping was integral in planning what came to fruition with the Busch Stadium Ballpark Village.  What they're proposing to do with the ship yards has very similar feel to it.  It has been a great success in St. Louis.  It will change the entire landscape here in Jacksonville.

Agreed! But Wayne Weaver, if memory serves me right, was hands off. Khan didn't have to do much to pass him in that department. But hey, they're both Jags and I'm glad Weaver brought the Cats to Jax.

Khan is spending more time here of late, but he still logs most of his time in IL.  Lamping was hired to oversee his ventures here as well as in London related to the sports franchises he owns. 

 

When they hired Lamping, it was a complete departure from the structure we've been accustomed to.  I thought it was an interesting hire based on his pedigree.  His track record speaks for itself.  You have to imagine that being hired to run the business side of things for this franchise and for Fulham has to be kind of a dream job for Lamping.  He and Khan could wind up being the architects of a REAL renaissance here in Jacksonville, and neither had anything to do with this city a few years ago.

I agree with the four pillars concept. 

 

All the great teams have it. 

 

 

Are we there? I think for the first time in a long time we have the chance to actually have all 4. Not since the Coughlin era in the 90's did we have it and I'm not sure we had all 4 then....but it was the closest. 

 

 

Owner? check

 

GM? pretty much check

 

Coach? I think he's on his way, but the jury is still out since 4-12 is all we have so far. 

 

QB? Again, jury still out, but very promising so far.
