Who is Andrew Luck?

Quote:Hurns hasn't played one NFL down yet but still you want to get rid of shorts because you say hurns makes him expendable. But......that makes us look foolish, right? ... Luck at his position >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Shorts at his. Not to mention the QB position is just a tad more important than any single WR....
Quote:The thing is, on this forum, someone saying something like that and being serious wouldn't be shocking. I couldn't tell he was joking. He usually is serious with that sort of talk. Just read all of his other Andrew Luck posts. Quote:Luck at his position >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Shorts at his. Whatever you have to say so you don't feel like a hypocrite.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
stop it. All this type of talk does is make us look foolish. Hurns hasn't even caught his first NFL pass that counts yet. Even if hurns has the potential to one day rival shorts in ability/ production....you let it play out some before saying the above crap.

Same thing with Colvin taking Gratz's job despite not even practicing yet.
Quote:Same thing with Colvin taking Gratz's job despite not even practicing yet. Again, its one thing to make statements like that when the competition is equally as unproven or bad (Gratz). But to say it when the competition is Andrew Luck just makes it sound ridiculous.

Luck is still pretty unproven himself.. Quote:Again, its one thing to make statements like that when the competition is equally as unproven or bad (Gratz). When he shut down Marshall and Jeffrey and you disappeared for days because you couldn't take having your nose rubbed in your own dung? Colvin hasn't covered one single NFL receiver yet. So stop making us sound foolish.

Quote:Believe me, I know. When Luck rates in the top 10 of a meaningful stat please feel free to have some fun at my expense.... He's only shown himself to be a decent starter so far, no more, no less. Quote:Again, its one thing to make statements like that when the competition is equally as unproven or bad (Gratz). But to say it when the competition is Andrew Luck just makes it sound ridiculous. Give a breakdown of why Gratz is so bad. Since he's such a scrub it should be easy. The competition being Andrew Luck doesn't make the statement any less hypocritical. Quote:When Luck rates in the top 10 of a meaningful stat please feel free to have some fun at my expense.... Some of these luck enthusiasts say he's better than Brady. Brady has only been out of the top ten in passer rating one time in the last ten years. Luck hasn't even been in the top ten yet. Then these guys will say stats don't mean anything. You need to watch him. He passes the eye test. People only pass the eye test so long without putting up the stats. In my opinion, this year will tell us if luck is going to take that next step or if he isn't going to ever be much more than the slightly above average QB he has shown to the world the last two years.

Cute. TMD has found solace with fellow non-Jaguar fans.
That is no accident, and has come to be expected. Quote:Some of these luck enthusiasts say he's better than Brady. Brady has only been out of the top ten in passer rating one time in the last ten years. Luck hasn't even been in the top ten yet. And to add to this, he had lofty expectations. Expectations that have not yet been met. He's come close, but hasn't quite lived up to the hype. Otherwise, he'd already be top 5, let alone top 10. Could he get there? Sure. But it's certainly been a longer, tougher journey so far than the hype suggested.

Quote:Cute. TMD has found solace with fellow non-Jaguar fans. Sadly the non Jags fans are the only ones on this thread that are giving Andrew Luck his due. I'm simply giving proper credit to Andrew Luck. I know this frustrates you because of your continuing agenda of disparaging Andrew Luck.
Quote:Sadly the non Jags fans are the only ones on this thread that are giving Andrew Luck his due. You mean the Colts homer? Or the Eagles fan?
Quote:Sadly the non Jags fans are the only ones on this thread that are giving Andrew Luck his due. Yeah, it's quite sad actually. Wouldn't expect anything else around here though. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Luck is currently the best starting QB in our division, hands down.
Until that changes he will continue to be the division favorite each season. That's who Luck is.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
Quote:Sadly the non Jags fans are the only ones on this thread that are giving Andrew Luck his due. To be fair, before this thread went crazy comparing playoff stats and all these different QBs etc there were plenty of Jags fan's posts giving Luck credit (paraphrased below), #2 (me) - He's really good #13 (ObjectiveJag) - Luck is better than Rodgers #16 - (Dew the Mathis) - He's come close to living up to the hype of being one of the best of the decade #17 - (Roycee) - He's above average, might be ready to take a big jump. I think the problem with his thread is that everyone is talking past one another. Some of the people who are questioning Luck were probably expecting him to be nearly unstoppable the way Manning is/was for a over a decade. The kind of QB you need to force turnovers and over perform against to beat. Up to this point, Luck hasn't been, which isn't to suggest he can't reach that level, but is a relief to those posters. He has led his team to some great seasons, but people still see him as beatable (if you are fielding a halfway decent team, which the Jags have not), thus, the idea that he hasn't lived up to the hype. Additionally, Luck's numbers against the Jags haven't been exactly eye popping. In 4 games he is averaging 270 yds a game and has 5 TD passes and 3 INTs. The most important stat, of course, is wins, which Luck is 3-1 against the Jags. I think people see these stats and a career average of 255 /yds a game and 23 TDs a year and they are relieved. His numbers make it appear that, assuming he doesn't make a huge jump, he will be beatable when the Jags have a stronger team (in fairness, we have stunk). When people say he hasn't lived up to the hype, they are comparing these numbers with the idea that Luck would already be closer to Manning and Brees style numbers. Also, you do have to recognize that Colts fans are going to be ragged on a little on another team's message board. That is part of the fun! If Colts fans are looking for reassurance, this isn't the place. :teehee:
