Just start Bortles already

Quote:Most of these people go to the games and want to see Bortles play because it will make their Sundays more fun. It is a lot different when you look at the stat sheet on ESPN at 4:15 and have no emotional connection to the team.

....and he'll likely be starting by the home opener so stop whining.

Quote:The start Bortles NOW crowd makes me laugh.

You can tell that they really believe this is a playoff team (if Bortles starts all 16) and that we are somehow throwing that away by delaying Bortles insertion into the lineup. It is to laugh. They simply are out of touch with reality.
What does Henne give you that Borltes doesn't?  Besides being a terrible Qb.

So what magically changes by sitting until then?

Quote:You do know we are playing in the AFC south right? It's not out of the realm of possibility we could win the division with Henne

The Colts, are still in the AFCS, the last I checked, and are coming off of a division crown last year....

It will take the Jags 11 wins, minimum to win the division this year, IMO.

Even if the Jags started Bortles every game, the ceiling is likely around 7-8 wins this year.

Next year?? Yes, we have a good chance with another solid offseason.

You throw out some junk like the O-line needs 2 games to gel then Bortles can start. What difference is 2 games going to make? Where do you get this stuff?

Come on, didn't you know? It takes TWO games for the offensive line to gel.

OL gets time to gel, Bortles sharpens up any mental loose ends, the home Colts game is a better environment for success/ confidence for Blake in his first start....

Lol the start Bortles now crew are mouth breathers because they want him to start 3 games before the all knowing TMD?

The Colts are not good. Outside of our cupcake division they were 5-5...no reason why they would be any better either as they ruined Luck's development by not sitting him behind Painter

Why is that such an unreasonable concept?

I'm not saying "2 games for the OL to become ALL WORLD"...

I'm saying 2 games for the OL to just start to develop some stability with a constant lineup.

What if the OL gets worse/banged up?

It's like buying fancy china plates and then never using them because the perfect occasion never pops up.

I don't know why I didn't think of this before.....

Lemme guess, the most vocal of the start Bortles now crowd all have put $$$$ on some sort of "Over" on win total for the Jags, AMIRITE?????

Thats usually where some of the irrational behavior stems from in cases like this.

I am guessing the most vocal enjoy watching good, competent QB play. Just an assumption.

Everyone does.....some are just mature enough to understand that they might have to wait a few games for that.

Exactly, so may as well bring that forward and watch it from game 1
