Manziel has had 3 games that none of which drew raves...and lord knows the media wants it to. Now combine that with his offseason and you can see where many would take the negative trajectory.

 

Is Pre-season the end all//be all....NO  but can you make predictions on trajectory based on them...Certainly.

 

If Bortles had been hovering at 55% completion rate//65 yards a game there wouldn't be near the excitement or a "Eat Crow" thread up.

I just read today (Peter King) that the playbook Manziel received from Pettine is the very first one he has ever had. He didn't have one at A&M. The learning curve for him is so enormous. It is clear watching him he is drowning. I'm sooooooooo glad we didn't draft him. I wouldn't expect to see much from Manziel, if anything at all, this year.

 

Not only that, but Evans bailed him out lots last year. 

 

If Gordon doesn't return this year, he's got no "Evans" to heave to and bail him out.

Someone hit the head on the nail with the consistency thing. Bortles has been consistent in every game he's played this preseason and I kinda feel like if he were to start a full game he might put up 300+ yards and a TD or two. That's something we haven't seen in jax on a consistent basis.

I've never seen women react favorably to being neglected in lieu of posting on any sort of message boards while out in a social setting. The women up here wouldn't react favorably to that at all.

Bortles would deserve benefit because he has put 3 impressive games together....If he had had a bad game it would be off set by his 2 other good ones.  Manziel hasn't put together an impressive game yet....which is why each continuing "meh" game will add up.

The most sombering comparison is RGIII...Manziel was drafted based on his scrambling//extending the play ability but you can't//shouldn't fall into that trap when it comes to the NFL.

 

 If Manziel relies on his running I feel it will be RGIII all over again except with a lesser prospect.

 

The bold is the biggest to me...you can overcome some of the others ala Brees//Wilson but you have to put in more effort than others behind closed doors.

 

I think the partying can definitely be linked to his current struggles.
