Who is Andrew Luck?

Quote:I do see Dolphins games all the time at the Sports bar on Sundays, and also know some avid Dolphins fans....we all think Tannehill is nothing special.

But thats ok, carry on with the above ridiculousness of taking Tannehill ahead of Luck.

why is luck better than tannehill? i can just say anything too, doesnt mean its right, doesnt mean its logical or has any merit.

all you are doing is showing off your lack of knowledge.

My lack of knowledge? You are the one that made the asinine claim that you'd take Tannehill above Luck. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Tannehill is pretty much a white David Garrard.....maybe even less accurate. Ham & egger who makes questionable decisions often. Decent arm strength but not accurate. The Dolphins were desperate for a QB and reached for this guy. Now they are stuck with him. He's not anywhere near Gabbert bad, but you also aren't winning anything of consequence with him, either. He's not the "put the team on his back" kind of QB.

Luck and Tannehill have similar stats last year... except for interceptions.  Tannehill hasn't had much to work with -- sacked 58 times last season.  But I wouldn't put him on Luck's level.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Tannehill hasn't had much to work with??? Not sure how you can say that with a straight face given that Luck has less to work with than Tannehill. Luck's OL is on the level with Tannehill's (i.e. bad OL) talentwise, Tannehill simply gets sacked more because he's not as quick of a decision maker/ processor as Luck. Luck's running game is worse. The Defense of the Colts is worse, talentwise than Miami's. Luck was throwing to street FA's by the 2nd half of last season with the injuries.

you pretty much just described andrew luck.

also i dont understand why you even had to mention that tannehill was white? you could have said that he is just like garrard....

regardless, luck makes questionable decisions often as well and is not accurate. you can watch him and thats what you would see, you can look at the stats and they also tell the story. so...... thanks for making my point for me.

Tannehill is never leading the kind of comeback win in a playoff setting as Luck did last year vs KC. Never. Nor is Tannehill rising above and winning division titles despite a mediocre roster otherwise. As said, Tannehill cannot carry a team on his back like Luck can.

The Jags could have beat KC after all those injuries.

talent level i would say is the same.

injuries? you mean when tannehill was throwing to guys like rishard matthews?

Luck has Reggie freaking Wayne, and rising star T.Y. Hilton.

Tannehill has Brian Hartline (who never even came close to 1000 yard season before Tannehill) and an extremely overrated Mike Wallace.

Miami's O-line is also worse than the Colts.

Who's talking about defense when you're discussing the skills of a QB?  That only translates to wins (and even then, there are plenty of factors in Luck's favor that aren't in Tannehill's.  Such as facing the Patriots twice a year, when the Colts have no team they face twice a year half as good as the Pats at this point)

again, you are just saying stuff. tell me why. tannehill plays in a lot better division than luck does, so he might not get a shot at the playoffs to ever prove that.

i would go so far as to say that tannehill played better teams all last season and still led the team to 8 wins.

they play the same game, not the best decision makers, below average accuracy, mobile guys that can extend a play. tannehill also had a few nice comeback wins last season too. you cant give me any actual reasoning that shows why luck is hands down better.

you just keep making statements as if theyre fact.

Tom Brady will be out of the league before long, and that excuse will be out the window for Tannehill then.  Surely he'll last another 5+ years in the league.

Were it not for the Patriots, the AFC East would be a complete joke.

Reggie freaking Wayne is like 33 (declining stage of his career) and now is coming off an ACL)

Rising star TY Hilton is similar in player to what Mike Wallace is (although I don't believe his ceiling is as high). Hartline at this point of each's career is easily better than what Wayne is.

The OL"s are both bad.

As for defense....uh wut??? The better defense is going to make it easier on the offense to win games by lower scores, more turnovers and putting the offense in better spots. Tannehill had the better defense and still could only top out at 7 (or 8) wins.

Luck had one of the worst defenses I can ever remember seeing on a playoff team. That team without Luck would win 3 games, tops.

Miami without Tannehill might win a game or 2 less than they won with him.

That last part is in my opinion and not fact but the anecdotal evidence supports the notion.

Luck has shown he can carry his team on his back. Tannehill isn't on that level.

As for the schedule (achilles) ....please. Other than New England that division sucks too.

Quote:I agree. But Luck looks very ordinary very often. Seriously watch his games this season...That was the same guy tonight i've been watching for 2 years. (obviously he has some better games).

He hasn't improved any since his first game in 2012.

I don't watch much college football so maybe this is why i'm more critical because i'm basing it purely off his nfl play

Well put, and spot on.

He out-thinks himself well too often, making it easier for defenses to bait him into making the wrong decision.

Let's not kid ourselves. Luck is a beast. Whether he lives up to the "hype" or not is completely irrelevant.

Because Tannehill is white and Garrard is black.

Gotta love the PC police.

Maybe I'm not so badly off I need to worry about a few dollars on a bit of fun. Plus betting on anything but arbs can be seen as stupid.

Or maybe you have an addiction you need help with? It's "pre" season, do you bet on a coin flip, too?  Tongue

I think Luck is above Tannehill but not my that much. Tannehill can make all the big boy throws and I fully expect Miami to challenge New England for the East this season.
