Excuse to start Bortles week 1 - trade Henne to the Rams?....
|
What on God's green earth makes people here think.
A. Henne could start for any other NFL franchise. B. Someone would actually trade for him. In my opinion, if they got anything for Henne, even a 7th rounder, it would trump the Gabbert trade as best trade in NFL history. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:....and for all the overblown stuff about Henne needs to stay here to "mentor" Bortles..... Serious question. Did somebody hijack your account yesterday?
Quote:Why dont we trade BORTLES? No problem....Tell the Rams we want their next 15 1st round picks. Quote:What on God's green earth makes people here think. A. 4-4 in his last 8 starts. B. another team recently traded for a QB who's clearly worse. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:No problem....Tell the Rams we want their next 15 1st round picks. Wow, I hope our GM comes to the table with better arguments than you do if they get into negotiations.
Any GM that trades a 4th round pick for Chad Henne should be fired immediately.
Quote:Any GM that trades a 4th round pick for Chad Henne should be fired immediately. Any GM that trades anything for Henne should be fired immediately. He isn't even better than most backups in this league, yet some are thrilled having him as a starter.
Quote:A team desperate for a QB right before the season starts? A team in ascension that's expected to make a leap that just lost their starting QB for the season? A team that would be hurting for help at the position and looking at other teams that have a starting QB that's expendable? Any other questions I can answer for you? The only leap that any team "in ascension that's expected to make a leap" really considers trading a 3rd or 4th rd pick for Chad Henne would be making is a leap of faith. The fans otoh, would be taking a different kind of leap. If any team really wanted to trade a decent pick for Henne, the Jags would have to do it.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

I know you're joking but In all honesty, I don't even think an RG3 deal would be worth it to trade away Bortles. It would seriously have to be in the neighborhood of 5 first rounders and a few second and third rounders for me to consider it. That's crazy to think because Bortles hasn't even started a game, but the way this franchise has had trouble finding a QB... Quote:You didn't quote me, but I was the one that floated the 3rd or 4th. If you read and comprehended my post you'd understand that I think that's what it would take for us to deal him, not what the Rams would pay for him. But carry on with the manufactured outrage if it suits you. You're right. I re-read your post and stand corrected. I read the words "Henne", "3rd" and "4th" rounder then my brain exploded from the improbability of that ever happening.
I have to say earlier this year when I saw that mentor thing I thought....
wt heck could Bortles learn from Henne? if anything he might get messed up. But then I realized they need Henne to take the hits man! He's a tackle dummy. Bortles will take over soon enough guys....relax.

Henne is currently worth too much for the Jaguars than what any other team would be willing to give for him.

I like this idea. Rams are in a tough position desperate times call for desperate measures. They'll make a move for a QB but I doubt it'll be Henne

Also a team that, with this possible last straw, will likely be looking to draft a new franchise QB in round 1 next year, and who will need a solid mentor QB to see them through not only this year but the transition to their next QB, just like the Jaguars did before Bortles showed everyone what he is capable of.
The Rams could finish with 8 wins on the strength of Tim Tebow, and yes, they have serious interest.
But I think that they might sign Terrell Pryor after the Seahawks cut him, if for any reason, to pick his brain. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Wow....you guys see the money Bradford has made and will have coming from the lambs?
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...-tore-acl/ short version... "An ACL tear would represent a major blow for the Rams, who would be required to pay Bradford another $14.015 million in 2014. Including this year’s wages, Bradford will have made more than $65 million since entering the league as the first overall pick in the 2010 draft. And it will leave Bradford under contract for one more year, at a base salary of $12.985 million."
