While Teddy does have more touchdowns, I think it is abundantly clear who has played better. If Bortles keeps that he will be among the best in the NFL this season in average while Teddy would be near the bottom.

That could be a good point. 

 

If you are trying to develop a QB its better to get him the TD pass through the air and build confidence. I don't want a QB that gets conditioned to having the ball run all the time once in the red zone. The only way to build skill/ confidence for the TD pass in the red zone is to be aggressive and pass for the TD in the red zone. Thats how Peyton Manning was developed. Pass. Pass. Pass. 

 

While I agree with you, my best guess about what we witnessed regarding the proliferation of running plays was that the coaches were more concerned about trying to gauge the linemen and running backs in that situation.

I have no problem watching ESPN; and I quite enjoy it when I do. However, their ignorance on our team and many others are all apparent. They don't do their homework and spew ignorant comments as factual; when it's completely opinionated. But so do most sports analysts. So it's nothing new. i was watching sportscenter and two analyst, don't now there names, said Teddy bridgewater has looked the best among rookie quarterbacks. they should literally lose their jobs for such a terrible analysis. teddy had one moderately ok game and now apparently he's the best?

If you look at Teddy's game logs this preseason (granted it's only been 3) he's been pretty inconsistent. He's showing flashes but just not consistently.

Bortles has been far more consistent, and the one thing he does that Bridgewater has not done is Blake wants to push the ball down the field.  He's not a dink and dunk kind of QB.  He wants to make the big play.

he has 4 TDs and 0 INTs.

 

Stats tell the story for some.

Everyone wants to qualify Blake's stats in the first 2 games for being against the 2's.  To be fair, all 4 of Bridgewater's TDs have been late in the 3rd and 4th quarters against the 3s and 4s.

I'm honestly anxious to see more TDs.  That's really the one concern I have with the offense this pre-season.  Other than that, we look legitimately like an 8-8 team.  

 

We just gotta be able to drive the ball past the goal line.

Well, im just surprised Sports Center talked about the rookie QBs other than Manziel and then Sam sacking Manziel. Keep in mind that Mettenberger is playing against 3rd stringers and once against the 2nd team. Hasn't Bridgewater done the same? Im not worried about those two, im more ready to see Bortles refine his footwork/mechanics in game situations. Bortles will get the respect he deserves. Dont worry

There is a difference to throwing the ball down field and throwing dump passes and screens to RB"s. This is what has me so excited about Bortles. He takes chances! Bridgewater looked good last week and I still think he will be a fine QB.He needs to throw it down the field. I am sure this is the way he is being coached though
