Any chance Jerry Sullivan could reclamate Stephen Hill?.....

If the Jets let Hill go, he would be a great developmental guy.  He's still very young, and was undeveloped coming out early from Georgia Tech, thrust into starting too quickly in NY.  He has more upside than any other Jag WR that would be in the 5th roster spot.

Quote:Well, when you rant for three pages on draft day about Sanders being a wasted pick and a bust who will never make it through an NFL season...

He needs the attention. Textbook trolling.

I can respect TMD's opinion, but Mike Brown has been so bad this preseason I sincerely doubt he makes the team.

And Kerry Taylor is the slowed 4.5 40 yard I've ever seen.

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

I want to write that he has developerability. I think we can really intrigue people with that.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

But like others have been saying who would be the odd man out? Im not big on Brown or Doss but still not sure if Hill would be a real upgrade at this point, but the upside is there.
Agreed.  If he's on the bubble, let them cut him.  Then he's worth considering.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:its way higher than sub 10 YPC

For a rookie year with Henne, I think 50 catches for sub 10 ypc is fine.

I wouldn't trade a proven PR and catcher for a high bust potential guy like Hill.

So I would say no to Hill for Sanders straight up. Makes us worse and the Jets better.  Then again, if the coaches like Hill that much they'll just get him on the waivers.

We also brought in a proven and better PR in Doss.

Sanders really isn't that good. Not sure what some of you are looking at. Fewest broken tackles of any WR last year. What you see is what you got with Sanders.

..and, he's now 1 strike away from a year ban.

It's even harder to break tackles when you can't earn your way on the field.

Sanders may not be all that but in his one season he has already proven he is better football player than Hill.

LOL, put Sanders on the Jets and lets see what would have happened.

That doesn't really support the agenda here.

Hill went from 2nd rounder in 2012 to fighting for a roster spot in 2014.

I'm rewatching their "dress rehearsal" vs the Giants and really the only positive thing I can say so far is that he looks like a decent run blocker.

Other things I've noticed: Usually when 3 WRs are on the field he's not out there.

The Jets are using Jace Amaro/David Nelson as their 3rd pass catcher (after Decker & Kerley).

The only time I've seen him on the field in 2 WR sets so far is when it's a run. Actually most of the time he's been on the field (which isn't a lot) it's a run.

In 2 redzone series he's been out there for one play and was blanketed by Walter Thurmond III.

TE Zach Sudfeld (UDFA in 2013) has more of a role in the Jets offense than Hill.

Caught a drag and took it up field for a decent gain.

Other routes he's run, the CB basically ran them for him.

For years I've heard Mad Dog preaching to watch the tape and throw out the numbers. Tell me Mr. Dog, what does Hill have on tape that makes him even remotely worth it? What production does he have at any level of football? What does he have going for him other than nice combine measurables?

I was more referring to being stuck on a Rex Ryan offense.

I might not be the biggest Jedd Fisch supporter....but its certainly better than being on a Rex Ryan team.

I bet the Jets would trade their top FOUR receivers for Shorts, A Robinson, and Sanders straight up.  They've had abysmal receiving for a few years now.

We should get Colt Brennan then since college stats mean so much

Except we know QB stats can be skewed and WR number of catches can too pending the college offense, but YPC? Nah. If you produce a number like that (25.5 career) over that long of a litmus test, that suggests big play ability.

That clearly hasn't translated to the pro level.

13.2

13.2

...with Rex Ryan and the Jets

That number on the Jags with Bortles/ Fisch would be 15+ guaranteed.
