Any chance Jerry Sullivan could reclamate Stephen Hill?.....

That number on the Jags with Bortles/ Fisch would be 15+ guaranteed.
O I am sure.

Quote:25.5 college career YPC. (no thats not a typo)

Yes, I'll take that over Ace Sanders, thank you

He ran go routes literally every play. That's your best argument?

Quote:Except we know QB stats can be skewed and WR number of catches can too, but YPC? Nah. If you produce a number like that (25.5 career) over that long of a litmus test, that suggests big play ability.

His play in the NFL suggests that he's a straight line speed guy, that runs sloppy routes and has bad hands. Even after pushing off on a route (where he was blanketed by Trumaine McBride) and the ball hitting him in the hands...he dropped it. He had the opportunity for a big play but he failed to capitalize.

Also most teams that run a similar offense to GT typically have guys with high YPC averages.

Blackmon in his admittedly short stint with Fisch didn't average 15 YPC.

Not that Ryan is an offensive genius, but you sure it isn't more attributable to the QB and not the coach...or for that matter, the receiver?

Last year, Santonio Holmes averaged over 15 a reception under Ryan, and he had neither Bortles nor Fisch.

Hyperbole, but...

If Ace Sanders ran go routes every play he's still not averaging 25.5 YPC

I'm sure theres a few reasons contributing.

Thats why, I'd like to give him a few months with Sullivan and see what happens.

Santonio also was a seasoned vet by the time he became a Jet. He wasn't developed by Ryan & staff.

And yeah, Having Sancez was a detriment, as was Ryan likely a detriment to even Sanchez.

Ryan is not a good coach for offensive young player development.

Reasons:

He's not a good pass catcher, and his quickness in & out of breaks is bad.

The second one could be poor technique/ route running contributed.

Sullivan would help correct/ improve that aspect.

He'd likely be a better pass catcher with Bortles than he was with Sanchez as Bortles throws a better ball and could take advatage of Hill's speed with deeper routes better than Sanchez.

Not sure what Sanchez has to do with him dropping a pass from Geno Smith that hit him square in the hands..

Quick! Anybody! What kind of Offense does Georgia Tech run that would allow for such huge YPC numbers?

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

And he didn't have the talent to catch 30 passes in any college season.

Because I pointed out your logical failings? A QB on the EAGLES has nothing to do with Hill dropping a pass from Geno Smith.

Well, I don't know what pass you're referring to, you could be making the whole thing up, but whatever. Geno Smith is suffering the same fate as Sanchez in that Ryan couldn't develop a polaroid if it was an offensive skill player.
