Trade idea?

Quote:andre johnson isnt part of the future though. why not give any of the young guys reps?

also idk if you know this because you would have to watch football. but 95% of the time there is more than 1 WR on the field at a time.

Not being part of the future was only one of the listed factors.

The fact that Jacksonville has 3 young WR other than Shorts who project to be better WR is equally a factor.

Plus, the Texans have a better chance to make the playoffs this season than we do.

ryan fitzpatrick instead of matt schaub and an injury prone, overrated, out of position DE makes them that much better than a 2 win team?

edit: gonna be tough for them to make the playoffs when you already guaranteed the colts win 11 games

Quote:I dont care about this quote except for the fact that now you finally are coming around to the realization Blackmon wont play this season, hence Shorts is now the leader of the receiver pack.

But if we trade him, then our only experienced pass catcher would be Lewis who you are on record wanting to get rid of as well.

Well, I think its been pretty clear that Blackmon wasn't going to be around for -----this------ season for awhile.

My hope for Blackmon is for 2015 and beyond.

Why are you so desperate to start another flame war where you could face a permanent ban?

Yeah, and the Texans were a 10-11 win team just 2 years ago.

They can win at least 9 or 10 this season if everything goes right for them and make a wild card.

Yep.

Remember you want to get rid of Shorts and Lewis.

So what happens if Blackmon dosent play in 2015?

So now we're censoring?

This isn't the Colts board. You can make TRUTHFUL statements like the one you bolded without being reprimanded. This isn't TASS.

The statement in no way shape or form was said to start a flame war. It was said because its pretty realistic. (and fairly obvious) to most football fans.

Hurns/ Lee/ Robinson, thats what.

Not even taking into consideration another offseason/ FA/ draft.

But I think Blackmon will return by then.

ok man, youre clearly drunk. im not even going to argue with you on this one.

regardless you can get your 2, 3, and 4 WR plenty of reps without getting rid of your 1. thats fairly obvious to most football fans.

Im slow I dont know what TASS mean.

If the Tinhorns have a 3-1 or 2-2 record, I can already predict you will have them playing in the Super Bowl, if they get off to a slow start, you will change course and say they are not ready blah.

I'm saying wild card is a definite possibility for the Texans this year. Superbowl? Those are your words.

Even if the Texans start 4-0 I won't be suggesting SB for them. They don't have the QB yet.

They dont have a QB, but yet you think they have a better shot at making the playoffs than the Jags.

Exactly.. you don't get rid of your most veteran receiver. Plus his role in helping develop Lee/Hurns and Robinson is important. Next offseason? i'd entertain the idea of trading him then but not now.

honestly, if anything, shorts could have an even better year actually having talent around him. even if bortles doesnt play this year, blackmon was almost never around with the injuries and all the suspensions. lee, hurns, robinson should take some of the pressure off of shorts.

Um yes, their roster was already a 10 win roster just 2 years ago and they just added 2 of the best defensive players in the draft, and potentially the best pass rusher.

If projecting meant anything there wouldn't be any busts.

Shorts is still a young player. He is just entering his prime years. It's not like 4th year receivers are suddenly considered old.

Besides, you don't have to "project" what he can do. He has actually had real success in the NFL.

are you going to address the fact that shorts has 14.5 ypc in games that matter, with worse qbs throwing to him vs hurns 17 ypc in the preseason or do those facts not really help your agenda?

Alright so before you start slobbering all over the Tinhorns let me acknowledge they did have a better roster than the Jags.

They beat a Bengal team that year who had a rookie QB and WR lead them to the playoffs and quite frankly they were supposed to beat them.

Then they faced a Raven team who they could not move the ball against and that exposed Schaub,
