Gus Bradley on the hot seat
|
I'm not even going to give them the click and read the article but as numerous have said, Bradley is not going anywhere.
It would take a total meltdown from top to bottom for it to even be a consideration. Like 0-16, Bradley drives thru Wendy's, naked, in Shad Khan's Rolls Royce that he stole from Shad Khan's mansion, after he leaves a flaming bag of dog poop on Khan's doorstep and rings the doorbell. Even then I'm not sure it'd happen. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ All right, I'll play along. Why would your average reader want to read something that "disrespects" the Jaguars? I'm not sure the average reader cares one way or another. Do you rush to read something that "disrespects" the Browns? Lately they've received a lot more negative press than the Jaguars. (Why do I think I'm going to be sorry I asked?)

No pain, no gain.
I think the article is trash, but ready for a sobering thought? Gus Bradley, unless he stays on this team until the end of his coaching career (20 something years, probs) will one day be fired by the Jaguars. This guy who has so much optimism and just love for people... Unless he coaches lights-out till the end of his career, even he will fall victim to the cutthroat nature of the sport. Kinda sad to think about.

Maybe that would have taken too much research?Anyone notice/or even watch a Raiders preseason game that their entire upper deck is tarped?

Kinda sad to think about. All he has to do is establish a winning culture for a few years, get a couple playoff wins here and there... If he does that, he'll be here awhile (think Marvin Lewis) He could lead us to a SuperBowl, which would buy him even more time, even through losing seasons (Mike Tomlin) Or Blake and Gus could be the 2010s version of Brady and Belicheat I mean... plenty of coaches have long tenures, even without winning A LOT... Jeff Fisher was with Oilers/tacks for a long time. And they lost a lot more than they won... (11 non-winning seasons, .500 or below out of 17 seasons with that franchise, plus 2 losing season in St Louis) I honestly could see Bradley here for 10+ years, even if we don't win a Superbowl in that time, but he will need to get us to the playoffs at least. But yes, it is the nature of the biz.... One day... the GREAT BILL BELICHEAT will even get canned. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

If he does that, he'll be here awhile (think Marvin Lewis) It wouldn't surprise me for Belicheat to retire when Brady does. Gotta maintain that mystique of being a great coach. Gus might do the same thing. In 15 years when it's time for Bortles to retire Bradley might just follow him. Quote:It wouldn't surprise me for Belicheat to retire when Brady does. Gotta maintain that mystique of being a great coach.Bradley just strikes me as the kind of coach that will always want to be teaching young guys to keep competing and getting better. I'd like to see Bradley do something few (if any) have. Bring Bortles along, win a Superbowl, draft another QB, and win a Superbowl with him. 2 SBs with 2 different starting QBs (essentially two different teams) but with the same franchise.
Quote:Bradley just strikes me as the kind of coach that will always want to be teaching young guys to keep competing and getting better. Joe Gibbs is the only coach I can think of that actually won superbowls with multiple QBs.

We need to trade him while he still has value.

Typical Jaguars fans, over reacting without even knowing the back story. The chief editor of USA Today was exiting a highway when he saw a homeless man and his sign, perfect syntax...mind you, and now Lorenzo Reyes writes fluff pieces for USA Today as previously noted on page one.
