Anyone Else Starting To Think Lee Might Bust?

Quote:Lee has made a few ordinary plays so far. Nothing extraordinary. Much like when Reggie Williams was a rookie. He showed absolutely nothing extraordinary, but made some benign plays that any player would make. Try again.

Just so you know I didn't just single you out.

Quote:Good for you. Just so you know I didn't just single you out. Well up until tonight he really had not shown much explosiveness at all, so the people that pointed that fact out when this thread came out, weren't really wrong. I'm just happy to see him make that play tonight. Hopefully it gets him going.

What ever makes you think he will "get going" with Henne starting? If and only if Bortles plays, our young receivers have a shot at success. Does the jugs machine have a 5 yard setting?
Sling it, doesn't stick, try again.

The talent has always been there. Its seems that he's finally learning how to put it all together when the bullets start flying. People seem to forget that he missed a majority of camp battling injuries like most of our WRs so he's still going thru the process of learning how to apply all those mental reps to the field.

Judging the roster from pre-season games - for the win.

How many quarters of football has Lee played? 4-6?
8 catches on 9 targets for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns in 4-6 quarters and that gets the guy bust labels? Unreal.
Quote:How many quarters of football has Lee played? 4-6? The bust talk probably stemmed from the 5.5 YPC for his preseason, prior to tonight. That was Reggie Williams-esque. Quote:In 4 meaningless practice games. Doesn't matter at this point anyway. Lee pretty much fixed his YPC with one play. Quote:Doesn't matter at this point anyway. Quote:I'm not expecting much from him until Bortles takes the starting job. Yeah Bortles does make all the WR better, no doubt about that one. But I wouldn't rush Bortles into the lineup until this OL stabilizes a little. Its God-awful. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:The bust talk probably stemmed from the 5.5 YPC for his preseason, prior to tonight. That was Reggie Williams-esque. (in his rookie year) It's pretty stupid to judge a WR on yards per catch when an offense is: 1. Running a vanilla, preseason offense. 2. Playing with Chad "checkdown" Henne as the starting QB. The only preseason stats I was concerned about was targets:receptions. I don't want a WR with drop problems and those can't really be blamed on the preseason being meaningless or vanilla.
If you look back at all of my other posts, my obvious player comp to him and the clear way I would use him was from the slot the way Gilbride uses Victor Cruz. He just isn't going to excel having to beat the jam or make the tough contested sideline catches that outside WRs have to make.
Both of his TDs this preseason have come from him working from the slot, too. |
