Anyone Else Starting To Think Lee Might Bust?

Quote:It's pretty stupid to judge a WR on yards per catch when an offense is: Thats all fine & good but up until today Hurns had a 17 YPC average despite the vanilla preseason offense and despite also playing with checkdown Chad.... Quote:Thats all fine & good but up until today Hurns had a 17 YPC average despite the vanilla preseason offense and despite also playing with checkdown Chad.... The only thing that erks me about YPC and even YPA for QBs is that it can be destroyed by some fool coach with a checkers scheme (mularkey/Delrio) and a scared to fail QB (Henne/Gabbert). Both need to be used with this in mind despite one receiver showing a good #. And yes, Obviously its the QB fault if they checkdown all the time and have a crap YPA. With that said, Big Big Big props to Fisch/Bradley for letting Bortles throw like a madman Quote:Thats all fine & good but up until today Hurns had a 17 YPC average despite the vanilla preseason offense and despite also playing with checkdown Chad....He's played more snaps with Bortles than Chad. Quote:Thats all fine & good but up until today Hurns had a 17 YPC average despite the vanilla preseason offense and despite also playing with checkdown Chad.... What's your point? Just because one player played well doesn't mean the other one played bad or is a bust. If you think yards per reception are a big deal in the preseason then you might want to start following a different sport.
Quote:What's your point? Just because one player played well doesn't mean the other one played bad or is a bust. If you think yards per reception are a big deal in the preseason then you might want to start following a different sport. Thats a fairly blanket statement. I'd say that it varies on a case by case basis. Some players lack of YPC does translate into the regular seasons and some have not. For some the light goes on when the ligjts go on..... But for some, lackluster play in preseason is just a harbinger of things to come. Not sure why some of you are still arguing this so hard. So, someone made a thread about Lee & bust. So what? Let fans be fans. The same fans saying bust acknowledge that that was a pretty sweet play last night by Lee. Let it go. Quote:Thats a fairly blanket statement. I can agree with all of that. I just think our rookie WRs should be given a little bit of leeway before we tar and feather them.
Quote:I can agree with all of that. I just think our rookie WRs should be given a little bit of leeway before we tar and feather them. if they do poorly some will tar and feather, if they do well people will praise. Nature of the fan beast. No one wants Lee or any of the rooks to fail.

There's a substantial portion of people who post here who aren't fans, they're critics. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Quote:Well up until tonight he really had not shown much explosiveness at all, so the people that pointed that fact out when this thread came out, weren't really wrong. Except like I previously stated... At the combine and multiple instances in training camp which you completely dismissed and said he has lost his explosiveness since the knee injury. So I give examples of his explosiveness...things that actually occurred. You say they didn't and that he hasn't been the same since the knee. So I provided fact supporting it. You made a baseless statement denying it. Which was typical, but I'd appreciate accountability and you admitting you were wrong.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

It's not uncommon for rookie receivers to have to play a little while to start making an impact, especially those players that were able to rely on talent alone during college.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

Quote:Not around here, the tar and feathers come out the minute they put on the uniform. There's a substantial portion of people who post here who aren't fans, they're critics. It goes both ways. See that thread about how Caldwell shouldn't deal Bortles for anyone in this league. Yeah he's looked promising. But despite all that, its still just preseason, and there's quite a few guys out there who's been dominant in this league and won MVPs and Super Bowls. Quote:Nice TD last night. You totally put your foot in your mouth and then proceeded to follow it up with this gem.

Your examples included the combine, ![]() It was nice to see some explosiveness from Lee, on the field, in the game last night. Thats all I care about. lol, combine crap..... smh
Quote:It's not uncommon for rookie receivers to have to play a little while to start making an impact, especially those players that were able to rely on talent alone during college. This is true. In any event, I'm just glad to see that kind of play by Lee last night. Good for his confidence. |
