Any chance Jerry Sullivan could reclamate Stephen Hill?.....

Quote:Oh.. And Derek Carr 11 - 13 143 yrds and 3 TDs.

I look forward to watching Carr crumble when faced with defensive pressure and scheming that actual week to week game planning will provide.

Worst college QB among the prospects when facing pressure in 2013 according to the metrics.

But keep holding out hope....

The Jags are, what, third in the waiver order? If the Jets have decided to hang onto Hill one more year, a 7th round pick won't sway them. If they intend to cut him, why spend a seventh-round pick on a guy that you'll be third in line for anyway? Because the Browns might trade for him? Let them have him. He's a bust, plain and simple. If he ran a 4.5 at the combine instead of a 4.4, this thread wouldn't exist.

Are you trying to pretend that you know anything about Hill, now? It's pretty widely known that he has battled injuries. Yet, in your words, "he has been on the field the whole time".

I didn't like Carr coming out either.  I was just showing you how much the last preseason game means.

Hill released. Too bad we didn't give up a draft pick for him.

Hopefully we'll put a claim in.

Do they go by the reserve order of record from 2013 for this?

If so the Texans and Rams might beat us to the punch. They both could probably use a WR and I could see either take a flyer on him.

I somehow doubt there will be the feeding frenzy you envision, but the waiver order is the same as the draft order until after 3 games into the new season.

He probably doesn't get signed by anybody unless a team gets the injury bug.

He'll get picked up. There's always one team out there with the "I can fix him" mentality. I just don't think it'll be here.

I think Jerry can fix him better than anyone, but who gets cut if we do put a claim in? Brown? Taylor?

I'd have no problem cutting one of them for Hill. Hill easily has the higher upside.

Hill's agent speaks and he sounds a little butt hurt:

Quote:Stephen Hill's agent rips the Jets

Stephen Hill | FA

(August 30, 2014 1:24 PM EDT)

Free agent Stephen Hill's player rep ripped the Jets following his Saturday release.

"He didn't have a chance that first year with that whole Tim Tebow-Mark Sanchez fiasco," Hill's rep thundered. "His second year, Geno Smith was learning how to play quarterback. So they never threw the ball deep because they wanted to simplify things for Geno." Hill's rep made no mention of his drops of knee issues. The agent went on to say he expects the Browns to place a claim on waivers. It makes sense on paper, but Hill didn't give teams much, if any, positive film to go on.

The browns would be a team that makes sense to take a flyer on him.

Doesn't make sense for the Jaguars to claim him off waivers, I'd only bother to talk to him if he were to clear waivers and be a street free agent.

Why would it not make sense for the Jags to claim him off waivers? It would allow them some insurance on Allen Robinson should his hamstring issues linger or recur.

After Robinson, the WR corps lacks a big WR.

He's a 2nd rounder..., so what.

Its not all that much money, and the Jags have more than enough cap space.

If you can buy a candy bar for $1 but you have $2 do you give the cashier $2 anyway "because you have it"?

If I had to choose, I'd probably cut Kerry Taylor for Hill. Mike Brown has more of a track record, and both Taylor and Brown are 25 so no advantage with age.

Stephen Hill is only 23.

If the Jags wait until he passes waivers, they won't get Hill. He's not passing through waivers.

It's a smart move, honestly.

Jerry Sullivan is a great WR coach and he's probably had to work with guys like Hill.

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.
