Any chance Jerry Sullivan could reclamate Stephen Hill?.....

By the way, I don't think Caldwell will cut Brown for Hill, but I'd personally take the gamble.

I'd do it.

They both have so-so hands, but Hill has the higher upside

This thread will be funny if/when Stephen Hill succeeds in a new setting.

I said it wasn't likely. Learn to read.

After all that crying you did about people overvaluing 7th round picks, no one traded a 7th for him.

Hilarious.

The teams most likely to do that would have been good teams already, as they would have done so with the odds of him falling to their waiver spot being low.

No teams used a 7th round pick to trade for Jimmy Smith, but he was well worth it, no?

What does that have anything to do with?

I remember when Jason Hill was supposed to be the next Jimmy Smith...

It has about as much relevance as people using the Jimmy Smith argument.

My point exactly, just because Stephen Hill is fast and not living up to his potential doesn't mean he's going to be the next Jimmy Smith.

Who said he has to be the next Jimmy Smith to make Hill worth a flier? Hill only has to be better than 7th round picks which are usually low floor, low ceiling players that almost never amount to something. I trust our ELITE receiver's coach to turn Hill into something relevant more than I'd trust a 7th round pick to turn into something relevant.

I'm shocked at how stupid people are to understand the low risk/high reward point I'm making about Smith.

He only has to be better/ project better than the player he'd be replacing.

Hill > Mike Brown.

Also 23 y/o compared to 25.

Oh we understand it.

Like I mentioned yesterday, I fully expect them to make a move for Hill to get him working with Sullivan ASAP.  I mean if it is so much low risk high reward then they should be all over it.  No?

I agree with the above

Hey, people are free to disagree with the point I'm making. When they misrepresent the point I'm making, despite being spoon-fed the point, then I question their intelligence. I'm not saying Hill will be as good as Smith. I'm merely stating that sometimes the low risk, high reward moves can pay dividends. I'm also stating that Sullivan didn't randomly wake up with the reputation of an elite WR coach. If anyone could get something out of Hill, it would be Sullivan. If even Sullivan can't get something out of him, the effect it has going forward is minimal.

That would be like saying the Jaguar should sign an Arena League QB who couldn't make it in the NFL because Kurt Warner or drafting a QB in the 6th round because Tom Brady.

There is little reason to believe Stephen Hill will ever be successful in the NFL. Some guys just don't have it.
