Hurns to open season as the WR3

Quote:Thats beyond stupid. If Hurns wasn't producing at the level he is, it wouldn't matter what I said for or against him or SHorts. The bottom line is Hurns is PRODUCING at a level that is higher than what we've been seeing from Shorts over the last year. Thats what its about.

You cite this "agenda against Shorts" because you cannot reasonably argue that Shorts has looked better than Hurns. So its all you got.
I'll defer to your expertise on things that are beyond stupid.

If Hurns was someone you didn't like, and you didn't hate the guy who is the most experienced receiver on the roster currently, you'd dismiss his preseason performance for what it was, vs. weak competition, facing no real game planning.  Since you can't stand Shorts, suddenly Hurns is this shooting star that is guaranteed to be better than the guy who has been doing it for a few years now without actually starting a single game in the NFL.

Hurns hasn't produced a single catch, or one yard of offensive production in a regular season game.  Shorts has.

Shorts has a resume.  Hurns doesn't.  It's not rocket science here, but it's clearly too much for that big brain of yours to process.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:No matter how you want to twist and turn and tap dance around it, Hurns (and for that matter Lee and Robinson) have zero...count em zero...games of REAL NFL experience.

NFL games are won with better talent/ production, not experience.

I haven't seen him driving any bandwagon.  Common sense is not a bandwagon.  It's just something you lack completely.

So, that's why rookie receivers historically dominate in the NFL, right?  Oh, wait.

Hurns is someone I like because I can see he's legit.

I like any LEGIT player on the Jaguars, because I see that their play will ultimately help this team in its ultimate goal.

The players I typically do NOT like simply aren't that good. Or put up hollow numbers.

Shorts is the 4th best WR on this team right now.....5th best if Blackmon returns.

Quote:People were vehemently against trading Mojo away in 2011 when some fans were calling for it as they saw the end of his prime years getting close.

The Jags were not a winning team at that point with or without Mojo, so the draft pick(s) that could have been gained from trading MoJo would have been helpful for the future.

But there was a sect that would act as if you were taking their firstborn away from them by merely suggesting such a trade. (at that time).

Nobody was offering anything for MJD, and he had more value to this team at that time than he did in trade.

This was just another fantasy trade you concocted in that self proclaimed big brain of yours so that you could whine for the next few years when the trade didn't happen, blaming it on posters on this board instead of recognizing that maybe the people who make those decisions didn't see value in trading him.

And how much talent have the aforementioned WR shown in the NFL to this point.

I could give you a hint.

Statistically, Shorts is in fact a legitimate starting receiver on this team.  We don't know what we have in Hurns yet because he hasn't made a single play when it matters.  He's done it against vanilla defenses and second or even third tier talent.  Declaring him the best receiver based on that is just more of the typical premature kind of crap you do when you're desperately trying to push an agenda.  You're not fooling anyone here with this.  It's your schtick.

I haven't seen any implication in his posts that point to him being upset should Hurns succeed. He seems to be tempering his expectations for a UDFA in their rookie season though, which is pretty sensible to most people.

Oh, I didn't realize you had a gig in the Jags FO to actually know this. You don't. You are assuming based on nothing other than to help further your side of the argument.

MoJo was the NFL rushing leader for Gods sake....for you to claim that nobody was offering anything is ridiculous. I even remember MoJo's agent saying something about other teams having interest in trading for him when he was holding out, but the Jags wouldn't budge.

Im still trying to understand how Hurns is so much more talent then shorts...

Not that much more.  A few examples vs. a hoard of rookies who have hit the wall in their first seasons.  And those receivers who do succeed are usually guys that are taken high in the draft.  List all of the recent undrafted WRs who have exceeded Cecil's stats over the past two seasons where he's put up more than 1750 yards receiving, 10 touchdowns, and averaged almost 15 yards per catch.  I'll wait for the long, distinguished list of undrafted receivers who have done the same.

Do you like cut and paste this part or actually type it out in every response in an argument?? Laughing

Isn't that what most people with functional brains and no agenda do?  They take a wait and see approach?  It's the simpletons who can't think beyond their agenda who tend to overshoot the target in order to prop up their argument.

SHorts averages roughly 12 YPC without Blackmon in the lineup.

Pedestrian.

We should just have a filter that says this any time you post because that's all you're about.  I've never seen someone with so little mental horsepower who is so in love with themselves.  It's sad.

LOL. Away for three days and I come back to find the EXACT same tired-[BLEEP] agenda derailing yet another thread.  So lame.

TMD  --   everyone knows how you feel about Shorts, and everyone is supremely tired of hearing it.  Stop. Please.

You can quit the stupid stereotyping of the fan base while you're at it.  It's insulting.

Shorts has averaged 14.8 YPC over the past 2 seasons.  Whether Blackmon is here or not is irrelevant, but you know that.  You just need to push that pathetically mind numbing agenda of yours.
