Hurns to open season as the WR3

Quote:It's the eye test.

Please don't toss Barlow into the mix with Smith and McCardell.  He wasn't even on the same planet at them as far as his receiving skills go.
I'm just using TMD's reference to make a point as to why there were more guys wearing 80s.

Since 2004 when the league first allowed receivers to wear teens, the success rate for jaguar players wearing teens or 80s is probably indistinguishable.

In fact receivers wearing teens have probably been more productive for us.

Quote:Barlow was never a Pro Bowler. He was an alternate.....once.

Maybe further studies should be done on receivers named Ernest....Ernest Givens and Ernest Wilford. Hmmm

2 time pro bowler? That's a little bit of TMD made up bull crap to try and sound halfway intelligent.

Well played TMD.

Reggie Barlow. Lol

You must pick sides in this Twilight style debate

After the past how many seasons of watching WRs on this team, if this guy gets knocked down the depth chart (death shart!), I'm good with it. That means that the WR situation is getting better, and that can never be a bad thing.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Quote:I don't think that comparison is very appropriate. Hurns will still get playing time - he just won't be at the #1 spot on the depth chart. The same isn't true at QB, and it's a different scenario all together. Bortles is the guy for the future, but he's sitting to get more "pressure free" development time. Hurns is an UDFA climbing his way to the top and doing very well at it to even be considered for a starting position.
I think Cecil Shorts III has deserved to remain at #1 (he was simply injured during preseason).

I agree. It's pretty much set until proven otherwise.

If Lee, hurns, or Robinson wanna step up and prove they're the best WR on this team, then they will be moved up the depth chart.

No one is supplanting Cecil based on preseason play though.

So, you're not going to be angry or upset if one or more of the young receivers actually meet/exceed expectations?  How is that possible?  TMD says we'll be upset if receivers not named Shorts are productive.

Personally, I'll be thrilled if we get anything close to expectations from our receivers as a group.  I'm pretty sure that's what fans of the TEAM do.  We don't fixate on one player and hope he does poorly because we don't like him.  That's what Eagle fans like TMD do.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I am very happy to see hurns on the field.

both qbs threw to him during the preseason after the initial read. This means that his position on the depth chart is not as important. He will get open. He will catch the ball in traffic

I never said "ALL" of the fan base would be. Just a few Shortsfan kooks.

You're inventing segments of the fan base.

Quote:Oh, I didn't realize you had a gig in the Jags FO to actually know this. You don't. You are assuming based on nothing other than to help further your side of the argument.

MoJo was the NFL rushing leader for Gods sake....for you to claim that nobody was offering anything is ridiculous. I even remember MoJo's agent saying something about other teams having interest in trading for him when he was holding out, but the Jags wouldn't budge.
Yes, because agents never lie.  There was never any actual chatter about possible trades for a guy that nobody expected a team to part ways with coming off a rushing title.  Only an idiot GM would look to trade a guy when he's enjoying the prime of his career.  Well, an idiot GM and you anyway.

A smart GM would have seen that that was the highest his value was ever going to be going forward.

Which indeed turned out to be the truth.

The above quote is nonsense and tries to make it sound as if Mojo was like 25 or something, but not a surprise coming from you. (clueless)

Yes, because smart GMs always trade star players away when they're in their prime.

You see it all the time in the NFL.

Remember when Adrian Peterson was traded?  How about Tom Brady or Peyton Manning?  Yeah, those were some brilliant GM moves trading LEGIT talent for draft picks.

Are you saying MJD wasn't in the prime of his career coming off a rushing title?  Once again, your expertise when it comes to ignorance reigns supreme.

In the history of the league, 3 GMs traded away players in their prime?  Yes, that's brilliant GM work right there.  It clearly happens all the time except here in Jacksonville where we have stupid GMs.

Feel free to cite examples from the modern salary cap era.

It's a wonder you're still a fry cook considering how big you claim your brain is.  Why aren't teams calling you?  All the brilliant ideas you could offer about glitter, uniform colors, weather, and cooking the proper french fry would be invaluable.

FBT never stipulated "recent". He implied that it hasn't happened.

I think you could easily argue that the Colts came out on the losing end of the Faulk trade.
