PFT Season Predictions - Two writers have Jags in Playoffs
|
Quote:In this division, with a little luck, 8-8 has the potential to put the Jags in the playoff mix. It might not be out of the question. Looking over the schedule, we can possibly be at .500 going into the bye week. Anything better, then yes, it's time to really think playoffs. 1st quarter of the season - likely 1-3. 2nd quarter of the season - could quite possibly go 3-1. 2 games before the bye - could possibly be a split. Whether that winds up putting them in the playoffs remains to be seen. I still think they'll finish the season turning a lot of heads in the process. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:Outside of Luck, they are not much better than the 2-14 team from 2011. And that's how much of a difference a franchise QB makes. Quote:It might not be out of the question. Looking over the schedule, we can possibly be at .500 going into the bye week. Anything better, then yes, it's time to really think playoffs. All it really takes is the other teams in the division not to spot Indy the "automatic 6." Yes, the division is bad... but I certainly don't subscribe to the belief that Indy is that much better. I think they're an average to above average team who hasn't had any competition from below average division foes. Just look at last season. 6 of 11 colts wins were from division. That means they went .500 (5-5) against everyone else to back into their 11-5 record. That's making it too easy for them.

Quote:No, that's how much of a difference a poor division that spots you 6 wins makes.I think we'll see a much more evenly matched division this year as some teams come back and others rise. Parity will make this a fun division. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:I think we'll see a much more evenly matched division this year as some teams come back and others rise. Parity will make this a fun division. Very much so. I honestly don't know what happened in Houston. They were one of the early favorites for the playoffs/Super Bowl at the beginning of the season last year, and instead we witnessed an epic meltdown. Tennessee is starting to turn it around, and can never be overlooked. Indianapolis can always be beat. They are nowhere near the dominant team when Jughead was their quarterback. The AFCS may be to some a "weak" division, but I feel that going into this season it's loaded up with young talent that might change some perspective. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. It'll be a welcome change from us finishing the season turning a lot of stomachs.... ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Two more guys are totally clueless about the quarterback situation. How many more times do Caldwell and Bradley need to say Chad Henne is the starter until next season? And what the hell did this thread have to do with that?
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
Quote:Well, they probably need to say it at least once.but not twice. Bortles will start by the end of the season in likelihood.
Quote:Well I would have to say atleast once considering they have never said that to my knowledge. You must be pretty ignorant if you think Caldwell and Bradley never talked about that. They talked about it several times this summer.
Hey, why not? We have just as good a chance as any other team at this very moment in time. If the pre-season is an indication, our no-huddle offense can be effective moving the ball, even with Henne under center.
And if our WRs are as money as we think they are, we could a huge break out year. We'll know alot more about our team after Sunday. But this moment in time every season is like Christmas morning... All hope and promise and excitement where anything can happen. I'll enjoy it and hope my first present isn't a flaming bag of poo like it was last year.. I need to bump up my 2014 Predictions thread, which has our full schedule. But for argument's sake consider this hypothetical situation
Chad Henne plays until the bye week. The easy schedule and more talented players around him keep us alive in the playoff chase IF we get tons of help the last six weeks. Gus Bradley decides to put Blake Bortles in to increase our chances of clinching a playoff berth because he knows it won't happen with Henne. We become media darlings and clinch it in Week 17. Does this seem like a realistic possibility? Quote:I need to bump up my 2014 Predictions thread, which has our full schedule. As far as I can tell we have the same record right now as every other team in the NFL, and I predict that at the end of week 1 we will have the same record as half of the teams

Quote:Stranger things have certainly happened. What did you give me that link for? I am talking about making a run to the playoffs, not winning a road playoff game. Quote:What did you give me that link for? I am talking about making a run to the playoffs, not winning a road playoff game. I should have been more clear. The link was meant to illustrate that not many would have guessed the 4-12 1995 Jags would be in the playoffs in 1996. But they were. So - the answer to your previous question (about your scenario being a realistic possibility) is "yes." It's realistic. Unlikely, but realistic. Quote:The "Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy!" segment of the board has spoken. What a miserable human being. I mean it's hard to be that miserable all the time. That takes effort. |
