LOL - You keep telling yourself that.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Bortles says hi.

Quote:based totally on that, yes.

Based on his impressive play in college, the last time he got an opportunity to be a full time starter, no.
You had an opportunity to watch both Mallet and Garoppolo throw to basically the same WRs this preseason. In your honest opinion which QB played better?

Hint: it wasn't the QB with 3 years of experience. It was the rookie who had been in the system for all of 3 months.

Quote:Usually its the one's who's college game doesn't translate well to the NFL that fail. See Tebow.

The QB that played more of a pro style in college and did so at a high level, usually translate well to the pro game. Mallett was making all kinds of NFL throws his last year of college. He's the classic dropback passer.

Mallett was so stellar in college he went in the high first round in the draft right?

Well yeah he was supposed to go high first round. Some off the field problems dropped him into the third.

Of course he has shown none of those "problems" since.

I'd say we are probably closer to that than the tin horns.

Guys with elite talent like that don't drop 2 rounds because of one arrest.

Look at manziel. He had all kinds of red flags and still went round 1.

The reality is mallett was never that good and never that coveted as an NFL prospect.

He's proven nothing in his years in the league and was immediately beat out, and outplayed by a rookie that played against a lot weaker competition in college than he did.

One arrest? LOL...One joint can get you dropped to the third.

I certainly hope so since you used the third pick on em. But I seem to remember a tenth pick QB that turned out to be total garbage.

Sometime you just never know how things are going to turn out. Even Luck isnt all that great as far as I'm concerned.

Man, QB envy doesn't look very good on you.

Man..homerism looks even worse on you.

Can you say Bortles is going to be better than Luck?

Did the red flags drop manziel out of the first?

Did the arrest and the red flags drop blackmon out of the first?

Did Bradley Roby drop out of the first after his arrest?

If mallett truly was an elite, coveted player...especially at the QB position, he would have been drafted higher.

The third round selection shows how unheralded he was even after this stupendous college career that you and tiny dancer keep leaning on.

Well if that ain't a pot and kettle scenario, I dunno what is.

I think Bortles' ceiling is far higher than Luck's, and that he has the potential to be much better. But my opinion of Luck is comparatively low.

I'd hope bortles winds up being better than average.

Really? Was that the same GM for both of those QBs?

They don't make 'me too smart out there in Texas, do they?

I'll take our QB situation over what the Tin Horns are dealing with right now.

I'm glad we see eye to eye on the luck thing.

My main point is mallett just didn't have much value. Common perception would be he won't amount to much.

If he does though, then that's a steal for the Texans with what they paid.

I personally don't see it happening but I was just trying to make a point.

And I definitely wouldn't say bortles is better than luck. Can't make that call until he at least gets some real NFL action.

I don't think it will be too hard. You can find on the luck threads where I show luck and tannehill are virtually the same player. Everyone hates Dalton but he's a better QB than luck, statistically and just in my plain opinion.

So I'm definitely thinking bortles can top that.

I promise you that no one outside of Jacksonville will agree with your opinion.

I can agree with that. QBs are the toughest to judge coming out of college than any other position.

All you can do is make an educated guess as to how they'll turn out. Definitely looking forward to watching Bortles this year for sure.
