You need to back off with your personal attack against me.  I'm as real a fan as anyone else.  The Jags position last year was that they were planning as if he wouldn't be on the roster.  That was before being busted in July for marjuana.  The current staff (Dave Caldwell) did not draft him anyway, Gene Smith did, so DC was not covering anything.  They are being smart with the situation.  If, by some miracle, JB is reinstated and actually in shape to play and can keep his nose clean (pun intended) then it MAY be beneficial to the Jags.

 

Yes, as a human being, I also hope he gets his life together first and foremost.  Secondly, I believe it is extremely unlikely he plays football again.  The kid's mind isn't right and his heart is not in the sport IMHO.

You should be wanting him to get back, not ushering him out the door so he can blow up on another NFL team, i.e. the competition.

I read where if the NFL and NFLPA agree on this new drug program that they are talking about, it could essentially wipe Josh Gordon's current drug-related suspension.

 

Blackmon's current suspension from a year ago was alcohol and not drugs, correct? However, he was pulled over with weed this year which would undoubtedly make his return harder under current drug-related rules in the NFL. If his recent drug thing is wiped, what happens? 

 

Not optimistic, just wondering.

Reality check...the Jags have not "cut" him so don't worry.  He is our project should he get his life right.  However, please give me a fact that would lead you to believe he will straighten up?  Because all of the FACTS (aka arrests which have police reports proving they took place) point to him being out the door sooner than later!

Nobody can "force" someone else to change. But something needs to happen that is not happening in rehab. Maybe he needs a better rehab facility. Whatever he needs, he is not getting it.

By obersving the very little public appearances we've seen of him when he apologized you can tell that he is not wholeheartedly committed to changing.  If he doesn't want to change (which the facts would support is true) then he's not going to change.  Very unfortunate situation.
