I never touted him as "the next great thing." I said that we hadn't seen the end of his development coming out of 2012 and that starting a dead end like Henne over him was idiotic.

 

I stand by what my position was just like I currently stand by the recognition that he's reached his plateau, and it's at backup at best level. (like Henne)

Lance Zierlein of Sports Talk 790 in Houston reports the Texans tried to trade for Eagles QB Matt Barkley before acquiring Ryan Mallett from the Patriots.


Zierlein is plugged into all things Texans, so we don't doubt its validity. The Philadelphia News and Inquirer reported last weekend that the Eagles were "open" to the idea of dealing Barkley. Houston likely didn't want to part with anything more than a late-round pick -- which was the price for Mallett -- while Philadelphia probably wanted at least a fourth-rounder for Barkley, considering it used the 98th overall pick on Barkley in last year's draft.

Thats probably the #1 issue with a lot who post here. 

 

The NFL is so fluent. Just because the Jags got Bortles means little in regards to other teams. They (others) can just as easily find a top QB next year. It doesn't mean that the Texans are automatically going to be scavenging the next 15 years. 

 

this coming from the guy who said the jaguars were doomed if the texans got B.O.B and then said we were more doomed if the texans got bridgewater.....
