PFT Season Predictions - Two writers have Jags in Playoffs

#61

Quote:It has been said Bortles will sit his entire rookie season by the coaching staff. Having said that and assuming it is true and they don't go back on their word, do people really think we are making the playoffs with Henne playing all year? It's just a lofty, unreasonable expectation.

All of these assumptions about playoffs are that Bortles starts sooner than later. Otherwise, its back in the top 10 next yr.

It's never been said that Bortles will sit his entire rookie season by this coaching staff, or anyone in the organization.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:I know, I know, PFT.  I know, I know, predictions are stoopid.

I found it interesting regardless and its a small bit of reading.

One guy has the Jags as a 6 seed the other as a 5 seed.  Both have them losing in the wild card round to the Ravens/Patriots.

It's possible, the Jaguars play in the worst division in football; if it weren't for Andrew Luck the Jags could be considered the favorites to win the division. We also play against the weak NFC East this year, all 4 team feature bad defenses. I'm not expecting a playoff berth, but it wouldn't surprise me considering the circumstances.

Quote:As far as I can tell we have the same record right now as every other team in the NFL, and I predict that at the end of week 1 we will have the same record as half of the teams

This was AWESOME!!! Got a great laugh here thanks!!

LOVE THEM JAGUARS!

I don't think anyone is buying that Bortles is going to sit the ENTIRE season. If Henne sucks it up right out of the gate and the anemic plague takes over the offense you gotta make a change. People's jobs are on the line and you may as well get him some experience.

No pain, no gain.

It will be tough to make the playoffs with this years Jags team, esp with CH starting at QB and the question marks along the OL.

I don't think they could make the playoffs even with BB's starting, but they sure would be a whole lot more entertaining to watch.

I do believe that they would have a better chance at the playoffs with BB's starting, but that's b/c I have seen plenty of CH's play going back to when he was with the Fins.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

I'm not sure what any of the above matters in the long run. Again we are in the weakest division in the NFL. It isn't like some impossible task whether likely or not. The coaching staff said that situation would be ideal, but they also didn't expect Bortles to be this far ahead. I don’t think the coaching staff said he will sit his entire rookie year. More than welcome to post a quote with them saying that. Things change and what they ultimately have said is he will play when they think he is ready. Beauty of life us it is full of surprises.
