Justin Blackmon = Stud Wr

Blackmon is to Dez Bryant as Shorts is to Miles Austin.

Pretty good comparison if I do say so myself.

Quote:Lets not forget who the first two picks were. But yeah I get what you're saying. He's a stud. No doubt.

I dunno....if he keeps producing similarly, he'll be better at his position than Luck & RG are producing at theirs.

Yes, I understand QB is more valuable than WR and all, but Blackmon is highly impressive right now.

Maybe you could work that into your "GM/Player value" analysis threads. Wink

Blackmon was suspended for the first four games for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy. During those games the Jaguars averaged 224 yards of total offense and 7.8 points. In the last two games with Blackmon in the lineup, the Jaguars have averaged 362.5 yards of total offense and 19.5 points.

Before Blackmon was suspended I thought we would have 2 1,000 yard receivers this year. Looks like it will probably still happen!

Justin Blackmon's numbers and impact have reached the point that it's become too risky picking against the Jaguars vs. most opponents in NFL Eliminator/  Survivor.

Justin Blackmon himself could easily spoil that party.

The impact that Justin Blackmon is having on the Jaguars Offense is somewhat similar to the impact that Josh Gordon has had for the Browns since he returned from his 2 game suspension.     Before Gordon returned,   the Browns scored 16 points combined in their first 2 games.    In their last 4 games with Gordon,   the Browns have scored 17 or more points in each game.     One player can make a huge difference.

Anyone know where I can find Blackmon's highlights from this game?

NFL.com doesn't have a single catch from him, nor does ESPN. None on YouTube yet either as far as I know.

This is so true.  Blackmon makes this offense exciting to watch.  It was nice to see our offense look dangerous this week.  On a side note, Del Rio's D may be the reason the broncos lose in the AFC championship.  They could barely stop us, it's not a good sign for the denver pumpkins...

though i do appreciate a good love in, he was pretty much manned all game by a champ bailey just off injury. Not saying he didn't destroy a great cb yesterday but  bailey looked a step slow so maybe some rust helped a blackmon that is faster and stronger than he has ever been before (kudos to him for manning up and i hope the maturity keeps up)

Good news is shorts has been facing double coverage every game and he is not the power player blackmon is. If blackmon keeps picking up yards, they will have to double him which will give shorts a shot on the deeper routes. If ace and mike brown can pick up the spoils we could have a very nice wr combo.

mate of mine that's a seattle fan says very good things about stephen williams too

Fix the o line in the offseason draft and a fa guard and sign mjd/ another rb to a new deal and i'd say we were ready for teddy

JB in the slot is completely uncoverable. If he gets in front of you, it's a catch.

WHich is very interesting....because It does open up a spot for Devante Parker....... :whistling:

Imagine a 3 WR set of Shorts/ Parker/ Blackmon.....with Teddy/ Mettenburger/ etc etc  slinging the rock.

Right... And to think he could of had an even better game is unbelievable. If Henne is on target with that last throw in the endzone he has a 200 yard 2 TD performance. WOW that's exciting

One of the gifts that keep on giving is the thought that Jeff Fisher cringes/ curses after every single Justin Blackmon big play, as we all now know the reaction of Fisher, when the Jags traded up to leapfrog the Rams and draft Justin.

Haha, good times!!
