Gus has to start Bortles now (MERGED)

I saw Henne use the TO's, but it looked like McClendon wasn't paying any attention.

He missed passes plain and simple. He is who he is. On the 4th down Lewis was wide open and he missed it. It's just who he is.

i actually think it's 50/50

bad pass no doubt but he had to loft it or it was a pick plus if you get two hands on it, you should catch it, that's on lewis too

He was wide open. No reason to make it a tough catch. Some qbs have it and others dont. The QBs that do make those plays routine.

wait for the home opener.  dont let Colts get tape on Bortles.

these nfc games are borderline meaningless.

He had more time, he could of taken an extra step and then put it on the numbers.

The throw to Lee was worse in the first half.  he was so open.  it was a bad snap, but still .... my goodness

Yes and those are plays that make the difference between winning and losing.

It's called touch. Some QBs have it. Henne doesn't.

Marcedes should have made the catch, but a good QB doesn't make it that difficult.

Let me get this straight. Henne is efficient? At what, not converting 3rd down passes? That throw to brown was horrible, and the 4th down pass to lewis was awful. Efficiency isnt going 2 for a billion on third down, and no second half points.

And he has a great grasp of the offense? So much so that we used 2 timeouts before the third quarter was up? Just horrible.

Those are rookie mistakes. So let the rookie make and learn from them. Henne is wasted time. And what a waste of a relatively good defensive performance.

Quote:I know this wont be popular but Henne played better then I expected and wasnt terrible. He was accurate on the majority of his throws.

In the 1st half mostly.

He did throw a few catchable  balls in the 2nd half that were dropped, but overall his 2nd half play was bad.

He just has to convert on 3rd down more often, has to.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

This is EXACTLY my point I have been trying to make all along...

If we must suck this year, why not do it with Blake Bortles?

And to those who will relay this back to the Gabbert situation of being thrown to the wolves... Bortles is NO WHERE near the mental ineptitude that was of Gabbert. "Ghost pressure" is completely irrelevant here...

Yeah that didn't help. It just went down hill.

Not a fan of owners pulling a Jerry Jones, but I feel like Khan needs to step in here.

Exactly, Gabbert didn't get broken because he was thrown to the wolves, he just wasn't good.  Bortles can use the expereience.

I've been following these forums for quite some time now. I've finally decided to make a username and post in here...

To no surprise, I'm just another pissed off fan stating the obvious: Henne is a bum. Yes we have rookies, but many of Henne's passes were just horrible.

Even one of the TD throws to Hurns was an ugly pass.

I can't wait for the day that he's out of this damn team..

End of rant

The pass protection was good enough. Yeah they missed a few assignments, but it's gonna happen. Can't keep Bortles in a bubble.

Henne backers are gonna blame the drops by Lee and Hurns(x2) for the bad second half performance, but it's gonna happen with rookies. It's the times he had tons of time to throw and drifted in the pocket instead of stepping into the throw and threw into coverage with no chance of completion.

The defense gave Henne all the points. Got the ball to Hurns, but they weren't exactly great throws for the TDs. The one drive he actually moved the ball he panicked on the high snap and missed a wide open Lee.

Let Bortles get his rookie mistakes out if the way with the other rookies so they're more polished when we're ready to make a serious run before we have to pay all these guys.
