At 27-0 the dynamic of the game becomes much different than even 17-0. At that point the Eagles margin for error pretty much becomes nil. Any score by the Jags from that point forward almost slams the door shut.

You guys are right. I think we should fire the OC weekly until we find the one that will generate 48 points of offense on a weekly basis. Anything else is unacceptable.


Same goes with the defensive coordinator. If he gives up more than 30 points again, fire the guy and find a guy who can pitch shutouts on a weekly basis. Anybody else sucks.

There really weren't many plays between winning and losing this game.

 

Key game changing moments/:

1.  Big plays given up.  Defense not being ready in hurry up on their draw score.  Prosinski blowing his assignment.  Both plays should have never been allowed.

2.  Wasting the second half timeouts early.  Not that they may have needed them, but it was a sign the offense wasn't running nearly as well as the first half.

3.  Barely overthrowing Lewis to kill the drive.  Henne had been throwing well for most of the game and had several key first downs.  This wasn't among them when it mattered most.

 

The game was much closer than the score indicated, and was a much closer matchup than just about anyone could have expected it to be.

This team has a history of opposing teams making adjustments at halftime to dominate the Jaguars.  The Jaguars usually come out the second half lost and uninspired.   What is the real issue?

The issue is the Eagles dominated the second half, it wouldn't have mattered if their deficit was 17 or 27 points, they did what they wanted to do, and that my friend is why they won the game. Dynamics of the game is a catch phrase with zero substance.

I hear what your saying, it's speculation on both sides. But in a situation like this, I think the OC is the one that's calling the plays and dealing with the personel packages.


But you're right, Gus could very well have said, burn some clock, which then was translated by the OC into creating a prevent offense style plan for the rest of the game that got us burned.


Again, I hope they learn from this. The lesson being, you keep your foot on your opponents throat when you have them on the ropes...

the game was lost on a few individual errors. 2 touchdowns were 50 yards or longer. 1 came when neither saftey played in the middle, and one because Prosinski is garbage. Other than that the defense wasnt really getting torched imo. I dont think how you could be anything but satisfied with how the defense played when the starters were in. Without Cyp and Poz its obvious there would be a drop off. 

 

I feel like Henne restricts Fisch's playcalling. He also makes everyone on the team look worse. The team couldnt run the ball so its really hard to call a game like that when Henne is your QB...

 

Ill wait until next year when Blake is in and the offensive line is beefed up before I get fed up with Fisch. Bad interior o-line and bad QB play are the worst problems and offense can have. And right now we have both of those.

Agreed. Nobody expected to win this game, yet they're shredding the team when they lose as expected. They jumped all over Philly early, then ran out of gas and were unable to overcome the halftime adjustments the Eagles made.


A year ago we wouldn't have played a half of decent football. The team has made progress. The defense was rock solid in the first half, but couldn't sustain it. That should change as the season progresses.
