Would you trade the #1 and #33 picks for Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson?

Quote:Would you trade the #1 and #33 picks for Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson? No. Just because I don't like Stafford at all and as dominant as CJ is, our receiving corp isn't exactly a weakness on the team. Matt Ryan and a good pass rusher? Maybe.
TEST
Quote:Shaun King is pretty crazy either way. 8:05 is the most impressive throw of all IMO.
Quote:Rutgers is a good team. For all you SEC lovers, you do realize they beat Arkansas, right? Cool. So? Arkansas is trash. An average, at best, Rutgers team beat a bad Arkansas team and I'm suppose to be impressed?
Only 10 more games to suffer through! Imagine what Blackmon would look like with Bridgewater throwing him the ball!
LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

Quote:I'd personally like to see him take his favorite QB in the first and trade back into the third with his extra mid/late picks. Ideal situation if we trade: If we trade down hopefully we would still be able to stay in the top 5 (like the Rams) and still be able to draft a QB (Boyd, Mariotta, Metenburger).

Quote:8:05 is the most impressive throw of all IMO. There are so many plays in this game that Henne/Gabbert can never make. First time I've seen all the throws from this game. A couple head scratchers for sure, but otherwise some throws and plays he makes are awesome and plays we have never seen here in Jax
Shock the world
Yeah, a couple of missed throws but overall very solid showing by Teddy. The pocket presence and delivering the ball under pressure is superb.

Quote:Would you trade the #1 and #33 picks for Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson? #1 and #33 for an inconsistent QB and the best receiver in football? Nope. No deal. Those picks are way too valuable, especially in this upcoming draft. We can get a franchise quarterback with #1 and either an anchor interior lineman who will be a staple on our offensive line for the next decade or a capable running back to replace MJD with #33. Plus, while Megatron would be an enticing luxury, we already have a good receiver in Shorts and an ascending star in Blackmon.

So pretend knowing what we know about Calvin and Stafford, and they entered the NFL draft this year at this age, where do you think they are drafted? I think Calvin gets drafted top 5 and Stafford top 20. Quote:So pretend knowing what we know about Calvin and Stafford, and they entered the NFL draft this year at this age, where do you think they are drafted? Megatron would be a top five pick, but still not the number one overall pick. Stafford would probably go late first-early second, knowing what we know right now. Knowing what we know now, Stafford would probably grade out out similarly to Zach Mettenberger, which would be that early second round range. He's a capable QB, but wildly inconsistent and I've always questioned his football IQ. I think he'll be in Detroit for a couple more seasons, then head elsewhere either by his choice or via trade. I think if a team was offered Brett Hundley or current Matthew Stafford, they take Hundley 9 times out of 10. That's just my opinion, though. Give me Teddy Bridgewater and ASJ (who could fall to #33) over Stafford and Megatron. Plus, the former pair are 6-7 years younger. We show less advertisements to registered users. I guess I don't agree with you. I think that Calvin is the most talented WR to ever play the position. He is in his prime. He is proven. He has 6+ more years of dominance. I think that is worth a #1 pick. There are too many question marks and busts in the NFL draft to pass up on an elite player like Calvin Johnson.

Amazingly talented player. But we're not at the point where we're contending for a Super Bowl. You aren't getting a better player at that pick -- but WR is a luxury.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Quote:Franchise QB > Calvin Johnson. All day. Which is why my trade involved a franchise QB, too. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

You don't think that if we traded pick #1 and #33 for Stafford and Calvin, shored up the interior OLine with the rest of the draft, signed a couple veterans on defense, we would be contenders? I do... Quote:Which is why my trade involved a franchise QB, too. I don't consider Stafford a franchise QB. Too inconsistent.
Quote:I don't consider Stafford a franchise QB. Too inconsistent. Um, if Flacco is considered a franchise QB, then Stafford is for dang sure a franchise QB. |
