Marcus Mariota Vs Teddy Bridgewater
|
The Texans lost to the Rams worse than we did. Just splitting with them, and beating the Colts resting their starters, and that's 2 wins. I'm not seeing how that's overrating this team. It is in no way inconceivable that we get 2 wins.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Quote:You have to keep in mind that the first four games were without Blackmon and weighted our stats down heavily. Since he has returned were averaging something like 360 yards of offense. You also have to keep in mind that the Broncos are 4th in the NFL in allowed passing yard per game and the Rams are 11th.

It is in no way inconceivable that we get 2 wins. We are the worst team in the NFL. It really isn't close. I don't care what the Rams score was after Schaub left the game injured. I think you are absolutely insane to be confident we will win any of these games. You are also assuming the Colts will have no reason to win their final game. If they are jockeying for homefield or a better matchup they will at least be playing the first half.
TEST
Assuming they don't get the Bye (I don't think they will, they need to go something like 8-2 for the rest of the season and they play the Broncos next week) if they want a better position, they will likely want to lose because a win would mean facing that vaunted Chiefs defense.
And I wouldn't guarantee any wins, but there's certainly better than a 30% chance of winning some of those games.

I give us about a 10% chance of beating any team on our schedule. I do think it's absolutely adorable that people have hope again after the Broncos game. We just need a record season by blackmon, Henne to turn into Tom Brady, and at least one pick six a game and we should definitely win a couple.

If that's the case, then Teddy Bridgewater will do us absolutely no good.

Quote:If that's the case, then Teddy Bridgewater will do us absolutely no good. Of course he will. The QB position is the absolute black hole of this team. No offense and leaving the defense on the field all day.

Still don't get how anyone thinks he is even remotely on Teddy's level. He's a very athletic kid with good size. He still looks incredibly raw and could use a lot of work on mechanics. I'm not even confident he would be a day 1 starter on many teams outside of the Jaguars. The one thing I really like about him is his arm strength.

I'm still amazed that just one article from Peter King, and there's already 9 pages of TB vs MM.
Quote:Not sure what you are saying. Those were the things I was saying would be required TO win games. I'm saying Bridgewater would then have to also be Tom Brady level, Blackmon would have to have a career year, and we'd have to get pick 6's every game to win games. That's asking a lot.

Quote:I'm still amazed that just one article from Peter King, and there's already 9 pages of TB vs MM. Well let's end that right now then. "At least 2 teams have Mariota higher than Bridgewater". Okay. One is probably Philadelphia and the other is probably some team that runs the read option that doesn't actually plan on drafting a QB in the first round.

Just so we are clear. You are fully aware that the young players on the team currently will improve as time goes on and we will bring in more than just a QB in the offseason right? The team we see next season will drastically different on the offensive side of the ball next year, than what we have now.

Let's end this debate right now.
If the Colts got a chance to redo the draft, would they take the high football IQ, great leader, very polished Andrew Luck, or the very athletic and fast Robert Griffin III?

Quote:I'm still amazed that just one article from Peter King, and there's already 9 pages of TB vs MM. Are people even debating Mariota vs teddy? I think most still want teddy but mariota isn't a horrible consolation prize.
Quote:Let's end this debate right now. Griffin isn't a great leader? I think some people forget how good RGIII was last year.

Quote:Griffin isn't a great leader?Look at this year, Griffin has fallen off the map while Luck has his team 4-2. I'll take Luck 10/10. Griffin can even make pass reads consistently. |
