Jacksonville Jaguars #1 in next year Draft
|
Same time as last year after the second game. I have been looking at it seems like their is no clear cut #1 again. If we are #1 who do you pick this early now that we have the # 1 pick almost secured?
No QB please PS; Looks like the only enjoyment I get anymore in the NFL is the draft Khan are you listening? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I want Gurley in the first round, but no way will he be #1. Trade back to someone that wants Mariota #1 and will pay a boat load for him. Then get Gurley.

Jameis Winston.
Apparently our QB is not "ready" to take over the reigns... (sarcasm) Honest answer: Pick a stud O-lineman, OLB/MLB, or FS. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
We should be able to secure a top 3 pick which may be good for trades if other teams want Winston or Mariota (assuming they both progess this year)
If they take Gurley with their first pick of the draft, the rebuilding just got setback another year.

I think at this point you pretty much have to take a top OLman and make a spot for him. I couldn't see the game but 10 sacks is not the kinda environment we want for BB.

Trade back, and get a ton of picks from a team wanting Winston.
2015 1st Round Pick Jags 2015 4th round Pick Jags FOR 2015 1st Round Pick Browns 2015 1st Round Pick Browns (FROM BUFFALO) 2015 2nd Round Pick OR 2015 1st Round Pick Cardinals 2015 2nd Round Pick Cardinals 2015 3rd Round Pick Cardinals 2016 1st Round Pick Cardinals 2016 3rd Round PIck Cardinals OR 2015 1st Round Pick Rams 2015 2nd Round Pick Rams 2016 2nd Pick Rams Or something like those.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
If we deal with the Rams we should do what they did to Washington and get 3 future first round picks plus that year's second.

Quote:Is it 1980? 1) Look at the majority responses in this thread, apparently more think it's 1980 than not. 2) Like I've said in an unfortunate number of my posts, re-read my post... I'm almost 100% positive I never said anything about #1 or top 5 pick. I'm almost pretty sure (even though I was drinking, I'll give you that) that without looking back at that post, I'm surely surely surely positive I said trade back. Come back at me, what'd I reply with? ![]() 3) Gurley is probably the first RB in awhile that deserves looks at the top 5. Sorry if you don't smell what the NCAA is cooking.

RBs are turning into the equivalent of relief pitchers in today's game. You can find them anywhere and there is no reason to spend lots of money or waste high draft picks on them. It's never been more of a passing league than it is now and your biggest resources should be spent in that area. The highest I would take a back is the second round if it's a Gio or Ellington (6th round btw) type.
Adding Gurley to Bortles and the young receivers would be fun on Madden, but would just be a waste of a pick when there are so many other more important holes to fill. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Gurley is that level of special that after the year goes on and the O Line gels, and we have Bortles and a WR corp, yeah, you trade back (if youre even in the position in the end) and get Gurley. Then you get some big uglies for the O Line afterwards. At this point, I realize nobody agrees with this, but yeah it's a pretty smart way to go. Maybe throughout the season and seeing how bad Gerhart is, others will end up feeling the same way. We'll see though ![]() Edit: I know you don't realize it, but your bolded post would be fun on the Jags regular season as well. Sorry to burst your bubble! ![]()

Who is the last back you can legitimately said was the big reason his team won the SB? Rice and Marshawn are the biggest names whose team has won it recently, but Flacco and the SEA defense were the big reasons why they won it all, but won't deny Lynch was a beast. The Packers did a similar thing with drafting Lacy, probably the best RB to be paired with a top tier QB I can remember lately. But that teams fate will always be determined on how Rodgers and that defense play with Lacy a distant third. Just how the league is now. All about the QBs. Especially with how they are calling penalties on DBs. There seems to be more and more gems you can find in mid-late rounds and UDFA. A lot of people here seemed to want to take Tre Mason in the 2nd round last year. Rams for some reason go for him in the 3rd after having 5th rounder Zac Stacy breakout last year. Now he is behind him and UDFA Benny Cunningham on the depth chart. It's early, but the Browns look like they found a nice duo of rookies with a 3rd round pick and a UDFA after wasting money on Ben Tate. You're right, Gurley with the young talent on this offense would be fun as hell to watch but he wouldn't make us a playoff contender like a possible premier pass rusher or secondary player would.

Do some research on how this team has faired on picking pass rushers. Between Miller/Marks/Clemons/Branch/Bryant.. we should have enough pass rushing talent on this roster to afford to take Gurley in the middle of the 1st. Don't you realize how much it would open the passing if we had even a halfway decent running game? The fact we can even get any passing yards is a testament to the passing game at this point. This offense hasn't been legit balanced since 2007. And before that, what 2001? So what 1 year in like 13-14? Edit: Actually, find me the last time a team picked a CB/S in the 1st round and they ended up being something useful in oh lets say the first 2 years.
